Last month, I celebrated the beginning of my 81st year of life. For nearly half that time, I have been writing a nationally syndicated column on many topics generating reader responses that go from supportive to quite ugly. So I thought a column making my vision, values and views explicit might settle some of the controversy.  

On Wednesday’s CBS This Morning, while co-host Gayle King noted that “a petition against the retail giant Target is gaining a lot of momentum” over the company’s transgender bathroom policy, financial contributor Mellody Hobson dismissed the protest: “You know, it's very hard for these kind of boycotts to work.  We haven't seen real success since the civil rights era in the 1960s.”

Search for "go further" and "Hillary Clinton" for recent news on the Democratic Party's frontrunner, and you won't find any establishment press coverage. This is disappointing but not unexpected. In the early stages of Tuesday’s primary results coverage, Meet the Press moderator Chuck Todd repeatedly declared on NBC and MSNBC that the outcome of the Acela Primary marked “the beginning of the end of this primary battle” and a near fatal blow to the Stop Trump movement leading to Trump legitimizing his status as the party’s nominee.

Similar to the saying about the only certain things are death and taxes, one certainty when covering the liberal media is that MSNBC will complain about voter ID laws and little to no early voting being voter suppression efforts and Tuesday night was no different with the culprits being Rachel Maddow and disgraced former NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams.
