Carly Fiorina's seen a surge in approval ratings in polling after her excellent performance in the Fox News "undercard" debate in early August. But it appears that CNN's criteria for selecting which candidates get on stage for its debate in mid-September will leave Fiorina once again out of the main event, something the Fiorina camp is challenging.

Call it Trump paranoia. Or Trump Derangement Syndrome Be afraid. Be very afraid. That is the unsubtle message from The New Yorker magazine this last week as its cover flap promoted the notion in big and bold white letters. "TRUMP And The White Nationalists: By stoking paranoia about immigration, Trump has energized the far right and is creating chaos in the G.O.P."

On Friday, Washington Monthly's Ed Kilgore and Kevin Drum of Mother Jones contended that the conservative war on political correctness is a tempest in a teapot, and that being politically correct is pretty much synonymous with not being a bigoted jerk.

Care to see the sneering face of supercilious liberal condescension?  Check out the video clip of John Fugelsang, a Sirius host who appeared on MSNBC this afternoon. He laid out a loony conspiracy theory according to which Fox News wanted to "give" the GOP nomination to Jeb, so that he in turn could lose to Hillary, and Fox could be the "hate Hillary network" for the next four years.

After Thursday’s network morning shows chose to ignore a finding in the latest Quinnipiac poll that voters most associate the word “liar” with Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton, ABC’s World News Tonight that evening and Friday’s NBC Today finally mentioned the survey.
