After Giving Obama Round One, FNC's Luntz Gives Nod to Palin

October 3rd, 2008 2:04 PM
With all the hysterical leftwing hyperbole about Fox News being a Republican talking points echo chamber, its post-debate coverage in the past week has been far more fair and balanced than others in the media.Take for example FNC contributor and pollster Frank Luntz who having declared Barack Obama the victor of last Friday's presidential debate (video embedded below the fold) gave Sarah Palin…

ABC: Palin's Speech Might Politicize Son's Service; Biden's Won't

October 3rd, 2008 1:15 PM
On September 11, 2008, in anticipation of a speech that Sarah Palin would be giving at a ceremony for her son's deployment to Iraq, "Good Morning America" correspondent John Berman filed a report speculating that the Republican vice presidential candidate might be politicizing her child's military service (see picture at right). On October 3, 2008, Senator Joe Biden will be giving an address at a…

O'Reilly Tears Barney Frank Apart Over Fannie and Freddie

October 3rd, 2008 11:02 AM
Finally, someone in the media accurately accused and challenged a member of Congress over his involvement and complicity in the current financial crisis. As press member after press member has allowed Democrats to shamefully and erroneously blame the current crisis on George W. Bush, virtually nobody other than folks at Fox News has been willing to examine the role elected officials on the left…

Biden Being Biden

October 3rd, 2008 8:32 AM
Remember the furor and the comedic punch lines as a result of Sarah Palin’s statement, implying that she needed someone to clarify the role of the Vice President? Well, brace yourselves for a similarly overwhelming media reaction to Joe Biden’s solution on where one can locate the definition of the Vice President’s role – Article I of the Constitution. Problem being, it’s actually Article II. To…

Curry Concerned Biden Victim of 'Double-Standard

October 3rd, 2008 8:20 AM
Poor Joe.  Ann Curry is concerned that the senator from Delaware was the victim of a double-standard during last night's debate that caused him to hide his light under a barrel.  The Today show co-anchor [subbing for Meredith Vieira] expressed her misgivings this morning to Obama supporter Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.)ANN CURRY: But he restrained himself to some degree. I mean, she called him "…

Rolling Stone: McCain a 'Mean Little Fu_ _ er,' That Puts Own 'Advance

October 3rd, 2008 6:46 AM
The Rolling Stone has a long attack piece on John McCain in its October issue that really rakes the GOP presidential candidate over the coals. The piece indulges in quite a lot of name calling and dismisses his patriotism, bravery, and integrity in nearly every paragraph. It's quite a vicious attack piece, really. This slanderous piece doesn't even take a little time to get warmed up as it…

WaPo Ignores Its Own Poll Showing McCain Gain, Focuses on Palin Allege

October 2nd, 2008 4:35 PM
If Old Media can cook their numbers to make their favored candidate look good, they will. Earlier today, I covered two cooked AP-GfK polls (at NewsBusters; at BizzyBlog). The pollster dramatically changed the party-ID makeup of the second poll to include a much higher percentage of Democrats, and watered down the strong-GOP component of the Republicans sampled. As a result, the two poll results,…

October 2nd, 2008 4:02 PM
At the top of Thursday’s CBS Early Show, correspondent Jeff Glor reported on the upcoming vice presidential debate by declaring: "35-year Senate veteran Joe Biden versus the upstart from Alaska, Sarah Palin, the surprise VP pick, whose credentials have been questioned after a series of attention-grabbing interviews." ABC Touts Negative Palin Numbers; Skipped More Positive McCain Poll

October 2nd, 2008 12:54 PM
On Wednesday's "Good Morning America," the program completely skipped an ABC poll that showed a tight, four percent national lead for Barack Obama. Thursday's show, however, prominently featured a new ABC survey that claimed 60 percent of Americans think that Sarah Palin does not have the experience to be president. Former Clinton aide George Stephanopoulos, now the host of "This Week,"…

WaPo Loves Republicans, When They're Frustrated 'Moderates' Venting Th

October 2nd, 2008 11:55 AM
Washington Post metro columnist Marc Fisher treated readers of the October 2 paper to a look at outgoing "moderate" Republican Wayne Gilchrest (1st District-Md.), who was felled in a primary contest back in February by a conservative state senator backed by the fiscally conservative group Club for Growth. Fisher dutifully documented and then applauded not only Gilchrest's disillusionment with Sen…

Reporter Fired For Wearing Obama T-Shirt While Covering Obama Rally

October 2nd, 2008 9:55 AM
A 15-year Detroit radio reporter was fired for wearing an Obama T-Shirt while on the job covering an Obama rally. As a result of this major breach of ethics, WWJ Newsradio 950 showed reporter Karen Dinkins the door -- that's right, she was fired. I must say that it is pretty amazing to see a media outlet uphold ethics like this, especially in Detroit. But there you have it.
