During live coverage on Thursday just moments before former Texas Governor Rick Perry announced his 2016 presidential run, MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell preemptively dismissed his candidacy: “Why does Rick Perry think that the second time around will work given pretty much a disastrous campaign last time?”

Liberal ESPN and CNN commentator LZ Granderson is getting a new gig, and will join ABC News as a contributor to provide, in the words of ABC News president James Goldston, “his perspective on politics, sports and pop culture across all of our shows and platforms.” Granderson is no stranger to controversy and has made numerous statements attacking conservatives as bigots.

After initially ignoring the ABC News/Washington Post poll showing bad approval ratings for President Obama and Hillary Clinton, Thursday’s Good Morning America finally noticed the Clinton numbers 48 hours after the poll was released. Co-host George Stephanopoulos noted: “...and a new challenge for Hillary Clinton, too, as her poll numbers take a dip.”

If his 2012 presidential run is any indicator, Rick Perry’s jump into the 2016 presidential race will bring about a flurry of the liberal media’s favorite pejoratives to hit Republicans with. Racist? Anti-science? Religious bigot? Gun nut? Heartless cutter of programs for the poor? You name it, the former Texas governor was called it by his haters in the leftist press. 

On Thursday, both CBS This Morning and NBC’s Today rushed to play up how Senator Ted Cruz apologized for a joke he made about Vice President Joe Biden just days after his son died but both ignored that the video of the comment was provided by the far left Super PAC American Bridge.
