MSNBC Rips SCOTUS on Affirmative Action Ruling, Denies Thomas Is Black

Jonathan Capehart, the fill-in host for Thursday evening’s The Last Word With Lawrence O’Donnell on MSNBC, reacted to the morning’s news of the Supreme Court’s affirmative action case by launching personal attacks on the justices who had voted against it. He especially condemned their race and political ideologies as reasons that they had voted the way that they did.

ABC, CBS Broadcast Their Own Dissenting Opinions on Affirmative Action

CBS Mornings and ABC’s Good Morning America (GMA) offered dissenting opinions on the Supreme Court’s Affirmative Action ruling Friday morning under the guise of objective journalism. CBS’s Tony Dokoupil strategized about avoiding the Court’s ruling by including race in essays, and Prairie View A&M University president Ruth Simmons likened the ruling to Plessy vs. Ferguson.

HEARTBREAK CITY: Here’s How ABC/CBS/NBC Handled Friday’s SCOTUS Cases

Just as they did on Thursday morning, the major broadcast networks of ABC, CBS, and NBC each broke in Friday morning for the final Supreme Court cases of the session, which were President Biden’s student loan forgiveness plan (Biden v. Nebraska) and a free speech case involving Christian web designer and LGBTQ individuals (303 Creative LLC v. Elenis).

NB Podcast: Media Predict Jim Crow 4.0 Following Major SCOTUS Rulings

Since the last NewsBusters Podcast, three major rulings have come down from the U.S. Supreme Court: affirmative action, free speech, and student loan forgiveness. Your managing editor Curtis Houck and I discuss how the liberal media shrieked in horror at the prospect of fair admissions processes, free speech for the religious, and President Biden getting his underhanded campaign ploy trounced…

Joyce Vance Doesn’t Think Students Can Write an Essay on Adversity

Friday’s Morning Joe took to bemoaning the US Supreme Court’s decision to end affirmative action policies at Harvard and the University of North Carolina. MSNBC legal analyst Joyce Vance provided a bizarre criticism of the decision: seemingly arguing that minority students were literally incapable of writing essays about facing racial diversity.

Vance repeated the traditional leftist…

Conservative SCHOOLS Hyperbolic MSNBC Predicting Return of Segregation

Much like they did the previous day when affirmative action was ruled unconstitutional, Ana Cabrera Reports delved into the conspiratorial and hyperbolic nature that was MSNBC and claimed a 6-3 ruling of the Supreme Court would lead to the return of segregated American society. Luckily, this time, there was a conservative around to inject some sense into the conversation: Carrie Severino, the…

CNN: 'The Wheels Are Coming Off' For Borrowers After Student Loan Case

Not long after their distributing their hot takes about how the preservation of religious liberty threatens to bring back Jim Crow, the Friday cast of CNN News Central freaked that “the wheels are coming off” for people who will now have to repay their loans after the Supreme Court struck down President Biden’s student loan cancellation scheme in Biden v. Nebraska.

CNN Fears Return of Jim Crow as Court Rules in Favor of Free Speech

CNN News Central reacted to the Supreme Court’s Friday ruling in 303 Creative LLC v. Elenis that upheld the First Amendment right to not be compelled to create a website for a same-sex wedding by raising hysterical hypotheticals about the return of Jim Crow. The assembled cast was also greatly confused by the difference between a gay individual and their wedding.

Bjorn Lomborg: Actions That Would Do More Good Than Wasting Trillions

For my new video, I asked people on the street, “If you could spend $30 billion trying to solve the world’s problems, how would you spend it?” “Build houses ... address homelessness,” said a few. “Spend on health care,” “redistribution.” The most common answer was “fight climate change.” Really? Climate change is the world’s most important problem? “It’s not surprising if you live in the rich…

Column: Avoiding Debate Debacles With the Liberal Media

Everyone who cannot abide the way that liberal networks attempt to mangle Republican presidential candidates in primary debates is having the same thought: If the Democrats never award a primary debate to Fox News or Newsmax, why on Earth should Republicans subject themselves to CNN or MSNBC or the rest?

NYT SCOTUS Scribe Wants Dobbs' Justices Sorry for 'Chaos and Misery'

Linda Greenhouse was the New York Times’ liberally slanted Supreme Court reporter for 30 years until 2008, and now writes occasional opinion pieces on her lifelong obsession of abortion. She even participated in an abortion rally in 1989 while a journalist covering the Supreme Court, in defiance of journalistic standards of objectivity. Greenhouse authored a guest essay for Saturday’s Times,…

Whom to Believe? Character Still Matters

It is an unfortunate truism of politics that partisans tend to believe the worst about members of the opposite party and no amount of facts — if, indeed, facts can be agreed upon — move people from their entrenched positions. Largely, I think, it’s all about gaining or keeping power and not actually discovering the truth or solving problems.

Here Were the Worst Takes/Best Network Meltdowns on Affirmative Action

On Thursday, the “big three” broadcast networks of ABC, CBS, and NBC twice broke into regular programming to discuss the bombshell Supreme Court rulings that all but took a huge bite out of private and public universities being able to use race as a factor in admissions. Naturally, the liberal networks were forlorn with experts, journalists, pundits blasting, fretting, and seemingly near tears…

In something of a follow-up to her bizarre and ditzy interview with then-candidate Joe Biden in 2020, MSNBC Deadline: White House host Nicolle Wallace managed to snag another interview with the President on Thursday. As many expected, it was yet another embarrassing display for the network as Wallace giggled her way through the interview, heaping praises and adulations on the Democrat. At one…
