Daily Kos Week in Review: Boxing Day

October 6th, 2012 6:38 AM

This past week's presidential debate put at least two Kossacks in mind of throwing punches and caused another to reflect upon which group Republicans hate more: women or those who pay no income taxes.

And why do leftists hate all the liberal debate moderators, like first-timer Candy Crowley of CNN? As usual, each headline is preceded by the blogger's name or pseudonym.

ninothemindboggler: Candy Crowley, sex traitor

...[W]hile much has been said about the President not bringing up Romney's infamous 47 percent remark...what struck me was the fact that Wooden Indian stunt double Jim Lehrer did not ask either candidate about how their policies would affect the 51 percent -- women...

No matter how much the GOP whines about being painted with the "War on Women" brush, their radical anti-woman stance cannot be denied...

Forget the fact that Lehrer (as an entitled rich, old white guy) wouldn't give a shit about women's issue[s] but Obama had...[a] golden opportunity to show 51 percent of the population how Romney and Ryan would shit in their mouths.

Bupkis...

Unfortunately, I doubt that [future debate moderator] Candy Crowley (as an entitled rich, old white woman and partisan hack) will give the issue of women any lip service...

Jed Lewison: The debate could have used some fisticuffs

...[I]n light of Romney's 47 percent video, there's probably a fair number of people who would cheer the president if he walked across the stage and punched Mitt Romney in the face on behalf of the tens of millions of Americans that Romney so callously dismissed...

chaunceydevega: Barack had better get ready to rumble

...Romney, with his post-truth dissembling, was open for blows to the body or head about his robber baron capitalism, the disgusting Ayn Rand argument that half the American public are bums and parasites...What was Obama's response? He looked to the referee for help, tried to clench the body, and absorbed more punches...

Mitt Romney will do anything to become President. Barack Obama, if he does not understand that fact now, had best start putting nails in his gloves, and coming in close to do some rabbit punching and dirty boxing in order to win. He cannot let it go to the judges and the scorecards; the Republicans are in the process of rigging the election to ensure a win if that outcome occurs. Consequently, Barack Obama must score a knockout by any means necessary.

chaunceydevega: Righties don't see that Obama's one of their own

...Obama's 2007 speech reveals that he is essentially a "compassionate conservative" whose words are not too far afield from those of either Jack Kemp or Daniel Patrick Moynihan. Yet, somehow Obama is painted by the Right-wing echo chamber as an anti-white, beat up whitey, support the parasitic blacks and welfare queen baby daddy and mommas, inscrutable and rapscallion negro who wants to steal from Caucasians.

The level of delusion and willful denial of reality that must be mustered in order to support such a state of mind would boggle the mind of any rational person. As demonstrated here, the true power of the Right-wing media is that they have mastered how to efficiently create such a psychological condition among their public...

XenuLives: Tom Cruise, honorary conservative

...The common thread I see in [conservative beliefs] is fear...Fear that the country is in crisis, and the only way to fix it is to vote out the black man. Fear of an African American doing a better job in four years than their last President did in eight...

...[T]here are millions upon millions of these right-wing nut jobs, and more are coming out of the woodwork since President Obama was elected. Racist groups have exploded in popularity...right-wing memes pollute Facebook after circulating across email, and the facts have no influence on this crowd.

I know of a group that is similarly "conditioned" to ignore the facts: Scientologists...
