One might think that when the Mayor-elect of New York City -- who happens to be a radical leftist and a member of the Democrat Socialists of America -- puts out a video detailing how illegal immigrants can keep from cooperating with ICE agents, it might be considered newsworthy.
But the liberal media say, wrong! If you were watching Monday's lead nightly newscasts on ABC, CBS, or NBC, you didn't hear a word about it. As usual, the Fox News Channel's Special Report with Bret Baier was there on Monday to play clean up and do what their competitors refused to do by spotlighting videos Mamdani had posted on Sunday:
Know your rights. Protect your neighbors.
— Zohran Kwame Mamdani (@ZohranKMamdani) December 7, 2025
New York is — and always will be — a city for all immigrants. pic.twitter.com/nuntRzgEwq
National correspondent Bryan Llenas had the story and who was queued up by Baier:
BAIER: New York City mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani is explaining how immigrants can refuse to cooperate with federal immigration agents. Mamdani's video comes after a top border official says his people are coming to the city. National Correspondent Bryan llenas shows us tonight.
MAMDANI: We can all stand up to ICE, if you know your rights.
LLENAS: That's Zohran Mamdani in a new video explaining how immigrants can resist ICE deportation efforts.
MAMDANI: If ICE does not have a judicial warrant signed by a judge, you have the right to say I do not consent to entry. And the right to keep your door closed. ICE is legally allowed to lie to you. But you have a right to remain silent.
(....)
LLENAS: Mamdani's how-to video comes after White House border czar Tom Homan promised to ramp up ICE enforcement operations in New York City. Just over a week ago, multiple protestors were arrested trying to block federal vehicles in Manhattan's Chinatown.
DHS ASSISTANT SECRETARY TRICIA MCLAUGHLIN [on FNC's America Reports, 12/08/25]: The real problem here is the safety risk it leads -- not just for these migrants themselves, but for our law enforcement.
LLENAS: DHS is warning Mamdani's rhetoric will embolden violence against ICE agents.
MCLAUGHLIN [on FNC's America Reports, 12/08/25]: There's a one thousand percent increase in assaults against law enforcement. A lot of that is coming from the resisting of arrests and that, ultimately these migrants and these illegal aliens are assaulting law enforcement to get out to get out of arrests, so this is dangerous rhetoric right here.
Earlier on Monday on FNC's Outnumbered, retired NYPD Inspector Paul Mauro alos weighed in:
There's all kinds of internal conflicts even in that little public service announcement that he did
(....)
And here's the thing, they put forward this idea that, you know, we're all on board with getting the worst first out, nobody wants murderers here. According to the reporting of the New York Post, in New York State, we have been harboring 7,000 felony level violent criminals, attempted murder, rape, sexual assaults -- okay -- all of whom are deportable, all of whom the New York state system -- that's Tetia James, the governor, all the way through the city apparatus -- that we have been harboring and keeping out of the ICE system. They shouldn't be here. All I'm going to say is this, it's very much a sign of things to come. Homan is not going to stand for this, so we're going to have some conflict
Mauro then directed his comments to Mamdani, "If you just cooperate with the worst of the worst -- when they get arrested by NYPD, under the rules we have in the law we have, you can hand them to ICE, they made a policy decision not to do that...Do it and there won't be any need for sweeps and you'll save yourself a lot of drama and some very bad optic. It's smart politics. What you just did is dumb politics."
There's no doubt that Mamdani's video and how it relates to what lies ahead is serious stuff. It is 'newsworthy' beyond a doubt on a national level. Unfortunately, it was not as newsworthy as a certain racoon and pasta sauce.
Assaults coming from the resisting of arrest and ultimately these migrants and illegal aliens are insulting to law enforcement and a sign of desperation to avoid arrest.
The three broadcast network news shows opted for other more pressing stories.
Over on the CBS Evening News, co-anchor John Dickerson reported on a raccoon who "trashed a Virginia liquor store and passed out drunk, and is now raising money for the place that helped him dry out." As for ABC's World News Tonight, David Muir's "Made In America Christmas" segment spent over four minutes on a family-owned restaurant's pasta sauce.
Ironically enough, that establishment is located in lower Manhattan. I wonder how business will be doing once illegals in NYC start taking their new Mayor's advice.
