This Top CNN and Obama Official Just Admitted the TRUTH About the Georgia Law

The mainstream media has been busy lying to you about the Georgia election integrity bill. Joe Biden smeared it as “Jim Crow on steroids” and journalists followed right along. But now, CNN commentator and former top Obama/Biden official David Axelrod has admitted the truth. On the April 29 edition of The Axe Files podcast, he told John Boehner: “Just on the Georgia thing, one of the things that struck me – I don’t disagree with you that some of the things have been – You know, it’s not the new Jim Crow.”

Oops. Perhaps Axelrod, who ran the Obama/Biden presidential campaigns and worked as senior strategist in the White House, should tell the current president? Or maybe he should tell his bosses at CNN? Boehner, the former GOP House Speaker, has been getting a lot of media attention for attacking Donald Trump and other Republicans, but not so much for knocking down the outrage over the Georgia law. He informed Axelrod:

This Georgia law, when you look at it, they really didn’t do much of anything. And this outrage about the Georgia law, I’m still just scratching my head. Because a lot of people were talking about it who know none of the facts!... It’s a normal process that’s going on.

In fact, it was Boehner’s contempt for the media outrage that prompted Axelrod’s admission. To be clear, Axelrod isn’t a fan of the law. He later lectured the ex-Speaker: “But it’s clearly designed – it’s not designed to make sure that the largest number of people participate in elections…. You can’t think that’s a good idea?”

Boehner rebuffed, “I don’t know what the system is in Georgia [but] – trying to have greater accountability by the election officials. It’s a good idea.”

Given Axelrod’s stature and influence, maybe he should tell CNN colleague Joe Johns what he thinks. On March 31, the journalist lied, “Jim Crow is making a comeback.” He added:

Jim Crow is also the name used to describe unequal racial segregation rules that banned black people from eating at white owned restaurants, staying in white owned hotels, and fully participating in the election process. Now, as hundreds of new proposals to scale back voter participation, the parallels with the past are inescapable.

Another CNN panelist claimed the law is based on "white supremacy." This is false and now it’s clear that a top media and political figure at CNN knows it. Click here to tell everyone else at CNN to stop lying and admit the truth.

JOHN BOEHNER: This Georgia law, when you look at it, they really didn’t do much of anything. And this outrage about the Georgia law, I’m still just scratching my head. Because a lot of people were talking about it who know none of the facts! And I just think – so anyway, it’s a normal process that’s going on.

DAVID AXELROD: Just on the Georgia thing, one of the things that struck me – I don’t disagree with you that some of the things have been – You know, it’s not the new Jim Crow. But it’s clearly designed – it’s not designed to ensure that the largest number of people participate in elections. And part of it was to hand over, essentially and over to the state legislature kind of supervisory or oversight power that would allow them to overrule local election authorities. You can’t think that’s a good idea?

BOEHNER: Listen, I don’t live in Georgia. I don’t really know the system.

AXELROD: That’s why I asked.

BOEHNER: I don’t know their system inside and out. But listen, I’ve been involved in enough election disputes. I used to be in the House Administration Committee. We used to look into disputes. And I tell you what, there were some places around the country that have local election officials, I was appalled. Now, I don’t know, again, I don’t know what the system is in Georgia – trying to have greater accountability by the election officials. It’s a good idea. Now, how they do it, that’s their issue.
