HuffPo Commentary Laments the Inadequacy of Cheney in a Wheelchair

January 20th, 2009 10:42 AM

Recently, Vice President Dick Cheney pulled a muscle in his back while moving boxes, and has been relegated to viewing the inauguration ceremonies from a wheelchair.

In an article from the AP Monday, come details of what caused the injury:

White House press secretary Dana Perino said Cheney was helping to move into his new home outside Washington in McLean, Va., when he injured his back.

Those who know the propensity of Arianna Huffington's readers to delve into the vile and disgusting know where this is heading.  One only has to review the commentary provided from the Huffington Post forums when Tony Snow was undergoing an operation to ‘remove a growth' from his lower abdomen, to see the depths of her followers.

Here is a small sampling involving the VP:

  • Shouldn't that read "electric chair"? - by typingisnotactivism.
  • I would personally have enjoyed putting him in his wheelchair by waterboarding him as a demonstration that it truly is torture. And yes, seeing him careen in it down to the Potomac would be therapeutic. - by Queenhuh.
  • He should be in hand cuffs! - by ScapeGoat
  • Re:  or a noose. - by Pegi

The Mensa candidates over at the Huffington Post aren't simply satisfied to wish death upon our Vice President, they also have their ‘looney left' radar working overtime, developing conspiracy theories that would make Rosie O'Donnell blush.

Some of the readers are wondering why Cheney is moving his own boxes, suspecting the contents to involve some sort of incriminating evidence of wrong-doing.  But if Cheney were trying to thieve documents, wouldn't he just go the successful Sandy Berger route, by stuffing them down his pants?

There is also the disgruntled American taxpayer, who is upset that his money goes to providing a staff of movers and boxes for the VP, but he is now saddled with a wheelchair bill.

I couldn't make that up if I tried.

I'm sure once Arianna realizes that her readers are once again wishing death upon a Republican, the comments will be removed.

But it's just more proof that the readers here at NewsBusters are a class above the competition.
