Washington Post's Karen Tumulty Compares Russian Trolling to Pearl Harbor Attack

February 19th, 2018 12:42 PM

Did you know that the Russian trolling during the 2016 election was so horrible and transformative that it compares to...the attack upon Pearl Harbor? While you chuckle over that observation, keep in mind that the absurd comparison was made by Karen Tumulty of the Washington Post.

Tumulty's hostility towards the president comes out in the very title of her laughable February 18 premise, We’ve just hit a new presidential low:

In a remarkable set of tweets over the weekend, the commander in chief sounded off on new revelations about the extent of Russia’s campaign to undermine our electoral system. His response: to lash out at his political adversaries and the institutions that are charged with keeping the country safe.

What was missing — tellingly so — was any indication that he plans to do anything against the perpetrators themselves.

Stand by for a Looney Tunes alert! If you are drinking anything, please put that cup down to avoid ruining your computer screen.

Imagine how history would have judged Franklin D. Roosevelt in the aftermath of Pearl Harbor, if he had taken to the radio airwaves to declare that Tokyo was “laughing their asses off.” Or if George W. Bush had stood in the rubble of the World Trade Center with a bullhorn and launched a name-calling tirade against the Democrats.

Tumulty earns a moonbat bonus for also tossing in a comparison to 9-11.

There was no loss of life or destruction of a city in the Russian actions described in a sweeping indictment secured by special counsel Robert S. Mueller III. But it was an act of war nonetheless, a sneak attack using 21st-century methods.

Act of war? Get those intercontinental ballistic missiles ready. We must risk the end of life on earth in a nuclear holocaust because a baker's dozen Russkies trolled to no effect on the election on Twitter and purchased small change Facebook ads most of which were published after the election.

Perhaps Tumulty made an election comparison to the wrong war. She would have been more correct to compare the British Labourite invasion embedded in the Hillary Clinton campaign to the War of 1812. Instead of a mere baker's dozen cyberspace Russkies, several dozen Labourites from Britain aided Hillary on the the ground in crucial swing states as revealed by Jeffrey Lord in today's American Spectator:

The British were coming, the British were coming. Amid the news that Special Counsel Robert Mueller has indicted 13 Russians charged with trying to influence an American election? The American Spectator has been tipped to a damning article published in Buzzfeed UK two days before the 2016 election. An article that documents in detail a stunning fact. The BuzzFeed UK headline:

Lots Of British People Are In The US Campaigning For Hillary Clinton

Good luck finding any British volunteers working on the Donald Trump campaign.

In what the Mueller indictments clearly state is a violation of U.S. law, the Hillary Clinton campaign was specifically inviting “at least 70 British Labour activists” to campaign for Clinton in Charlotte, North Carolina. And North Carolina wasn’t the only swing state of the 2016 campaign to get visits from British Leftists at the behest of the Clinton campaign.

We now await and wait and wait and wait for the Karen Tumulty outrage about this invasion with actual boots/feet on the ground. Since Hillary lost, there was no burning of Washinton D.C. to the ground again but, much to her liberal distress, the Washington swamp is being drained by the president she wants to go to war with the trolling to little effect Russians.
