Bill Maher: Romney Has 'A Messiah Complex'

It's become clear that Bill Maher's devotion to Barack Obama is so all encompassing that he's lost any capacity to reason or view things with even an iota of impartiality.

On HBO's Real Time Friday, the host actually accused presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney of having - wait for it! - "a messiah complex" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

BILL MAHER: Do you think that they have a messiah complex, because I always heard that Obama was “The One,” you know.

REIHAN SALAM: He hasn’t pledged to lower the level of the seas yet.

MAHER: Okay, but wait. This is what Ann Romney, I heard Ann Romney say this week. She was interview on 30 Rock. She said, “I believe in my heart” – they asked her, “Why do you work so hard for Mitt?” – “I believe in my heart that Mitt is going to save America.” Really? Save? Does America need saving? That’s like when Justin Timberlake was going to bring sexy back. Sexy went away and so you brought it back. America needs…

MARK CUBAN: It’s his wife. What do you expect her to say?

MAHER: I know, but I’ve never heard that either. I understand that the guy is, we don’t agree with him, but that America actually needs saving? Listen to this.

SALAM: You didn’t hear Michelle Obama say some over the top things about Barack Obama?

MAHER: No, I’ve never heard that. I never heard that.

SALAM: You never heard her say that she was never proud of her country before seeing the response to Barack Obama? Come on.

"No, I’ve never heard that. I never heard that."

Since February 2007, the left and their media minions have depicted Obama as being the savior of mankind.

In June 2008, after he had sealed up his Party's nomination, the junior senator from Illinois actually said, "This was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal."

But Maher doesn't remember any of this.

He's so all in for Obama that he's totally lost touch with reality.

Regardless of this immutable fact, HBO still gives him a platform every week to disseminate propaganda.

Exactly how did a cable network whose roots are airing movies to the public get to this point?
