Alec Baldwin Calls Andrew Breitbart 'A Festering Boil on the Anus of Public Discourse'

UPDATE AT END OF POST: Exchange erupts in Twitter war with Baldwins from all over the country.

For those that ignore such things, Alec Baldwin, after a brief respite following his embarrassing display on a plane in December, is back on Twitter.

Keeping with his pattern of saying characteristically inane things on the social media website, Baldwin on Saturday called conservative publisher Andrew Breitbart "a festering boil on the anus of public discourse":

With discourse like this, it makes you wonder if Baldwin considers himself the salve for that boil.

Be that as it may, this was in response to someone Baldwin follows tweeting: "My take? carefuly strategized rape rant 2 redirect attention fr late news Fri on Sherrod case ."

Notice this was directed at the similarly deranged Rosie O'Donnell.

For his part, Breitbart replied, "There's NO REASON you should talk to me like I'm your daughter! ."

For those that have forgotten, Baldwin a number of years ago left a vicious voicemail for his daughter that ended up going viral on the internet.

All of this leads me to agree with former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani and CNN's Piers Morgan who in December wanted to start a campaign to get Baldwin back on Twitter.

After all, Baldwin on Twitter is far more entertaining than anything he does on television and film.

*****Update: This exchange between Baldwin and Breitbart precipitated a Twitter war with Alec and his brother Daniel attacking their conservative cousin Harriet.

*****Update II: Here's Harriet's take.

Associate Editor’s note: As you are likely aware, since the financial collapse of 2008, charities and non-profit organizations have seen a sharp reduction in donations. Although the environment has improved, contributions are still nowhere near where they were prior to the recession. Unfortunately, the Media Research Center has not been immune. With this in mind, your support has become more important than ever. With a critical election approaching, the liberal media needs to be monitored 24/7. As we have been predicting for months, the press are willing to do anything to get their beloved politicians elected and/or reelected. As such, we need your help to fight this fight. Any contribution, even $10, is greatly appreciated. Please consider a tax-deductible gift to the Media Research Center to help us battle the liberal media. Thank you.
