On Thursday, in more post-midterm election fallout, the network morning shows continued to celebrate Democrat wins across the country. After heavily focusing on the economy as an attack point on President Trump and Republicans throughout the election cycle, ABC’s Good Morning America and CBS Mornings touted stock rises on Wednesday and insisted Democrats have already led to gas prices falling. Later in the day, stocks subsequently crashed and erased some of the gains touted by ABC and CBS.
Robin Roberts led the economy talk and touted it as a result of Democratic wins: “Stocks soaring yesterday following the midterm elections as oil prices plummeted.”
Elizabeth Schulze then led off her report with a bit of editorializing, and called the stock rise and oil price moves “an encouraging sign for Americans,” who, she said, “sent a clear message in the midterms: They are fed up with high gas prices.”
ABC’s Good Morning America continued its Democrat midterm celebration on Thursday, and seemed to proclaim the economy was set to be quickly fixed by Democrats after the midterms, with gas prices set to drop and stocks up, especially in the healthcare industry. pic.twitter.com/GfdYTjwL9H

She then touted the number as if Democrat wins magically fixed the economy and would lead to prices dropping:
The global price of oil plunging to its lowest level in two months as traders got more optimistic that the Iran war will end soon. GasBuddy says this drop in oil could translate into gas prices below $4 a gallon, diesel below $6 before Thanksgiving. Right now, the national average $4.10 diesel is at $6.28.
We also saw a big rally in the stock market Wednesday. The Dow surged more than 1,500 points, that's about 3 percent, the biggest gain in more than a year.”
Schulze then painted a happy picture for health care companies, a frequent target of the left, with praise for Democrats:
Notably, some of the stocks that went up the most were health care companies. Democrats are pledging that a top legislative item will be to give more access to health care. That could mean more business for hospitals and insurers.
Like ABC, CBS Mornings also hyped the economy as magically being good again since the Democrats won the midterms after stock gains on Wednesday.

Supposedly 'MAGA' CBS continued the stock talk post-midterm, and correlated it to Democrat victories, which CBS Mornings also celebrated on Wednesday, as the chyron read “What The Blue Wave Means For your 401(K)”.
Burleson exclaimed, “Wall Street was happy to see the Democrats win. The three major indices had one of the best days of the year on Wednesday.”
Burleson then showed surprise at the stock moves and said, “So some may have assumed Democrats taking control of Congress might have sparked a sell-off, but that did not happen. There was a huge rally. Why did this happen? “
Correspondent Kelly O’Grady, in a less celebratory mood than ABC’s Schluze, said she was also somewhat “surprised,” before she explained some of the reasoning behind the rise: (Click “expand”)
But this rally happened for three reasons. There still will be a divided government because President Trump made it clear he plans to use his veto on policy he does not like. Second, he accepted the results. I was watching the markets Tuesday night. You started to see the blue wave crest. The markets were going down. The second he indicated I will accept these results, I will work with Democrats the markets went up.
Finally, the war was clearly very unpopular based on this election. Oil prices immediately came down because traders are betting, “Hey, we will get some kind of resolution here.
O’Grady also noted the recent drop in oil prices and said, “Investors like when we don't have high oil prices.”
Notably, after both of these reports, stocks plummeted on Thursday, especially tech stocks, amid new fears over Democrat wins:

ROBIN ROBERTS: Stocks soaring yesterday following the midterm elections as oil prices plummeted. Elizabeth Schulze is tracking all of that for us. Good morning to you, Elizabeth.
ELIZABETH SCHULZE: Good morning to you, Robin. And this is an encouraging sign for Americans who sent a clear message in the midterms: They are fed up with high gas prices.
The global price of oil plunging to its lowest level in two months as traders got more optimistic that the Iran war will end soon. NATE BURLESON: Wall Street was happy to see the Democrats win.
The three major indices had one of the best days of the year on Wednesday. "Moneywatch" correspondent and CBS Saturday Morning co-anchor Kelly O'Grady is here to show what it could mean for your retirement savings. Kelly, Good morning.
KELLY O’GRADY: Good morning.
BURELSON: Alright, so some may have assumed Democrats taking control of Congress might have sparked a sell-off, but that did not happen. There was a huge rally. Why did this happen?
O’GRADY: It surprised me a little bit too because traditionally Democrats are seen as a little bit anti-corportation, and investors don't love when one party takes control of Congress because it is easier to push a ton of legislation through. They like gridlock.
BURLESON: Got you.
O’GRADY: But this rally happened for three reasons. Oil prices immediately came down because traders are betting, “Hey, we will get some kind of resolution here.”
BURELSON: Right.
O’GRADY: Investors like when we don't have high oil prices.
O’DONNELL: But front-page news in the papers today, how is it going to affect A.I. and data center build-out?
O’GRADY: A.I. data center stocks were killed yesterday because so many of the governorships turned blue like Texas, Georgia, places where they're building data centers. That being said what I thought it was interesting was a lot of the A.I. Incumbent names, Meta, Alphabet, Apple, they surged. The reason, bngng, is they have a lot of resources. They can say, “Hey, you know what? We have enough money to move to a friendlier state.” It was smaller companies that were hit.
But look, Democrats cannot be seen as anti-economic growth, and A.I. is all about anti-economic growth.
