Leave it to someone on The View to defend something so morally repugnant most of society was on the same page against it. In a very un-Disney move, on Monday, ABC moderator Whoopi Goldberg came out in support of cheating former Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and Chief People Officer Kristin Cabot and their extramarital affair. She argued that “sometimes you just can’t help it,” and “she’s not the head of HR in the bed.”
Ahead of Goldberg’s defense, co-host Sara Haines was raising the valid concern that “a CEO of a company should never be dating the head of HR.” “These are the people that are supposed to implement company policy” and “There's a power dynamic,” that would set an example to their subordinates.
“Sometimes you can't help who you want to get with! Sometimes you just can’t help it!” Goldberg brazenly interjected. Co-host Sunny Hostin, was shocked to hear Goldberg’s proclamation, exclaiming: “Oh no! The head of HR though?!”
“She's not the head of HR in the bed!” Goldberg declared. Faux conservative Alyssa Farah Griffin grossly responded with: “Oooo, but someone’s got to be.” Hostin countered, saying, “But she is the company police. She is supposed to be telling people to do, what not to do.”
Of course, fake Republican Ana Navarro went into the gutter. “Girl, I was going to say something, but I’m going to keep it to myself. She’s the head of something in bed,” she cackled.
Later in the segment, Goldberg seemed to take offense at Haines calling Cabot a “sidepiece,” and argued that she really didn’t know if Byron was happily married or not:
GOLDBERG: But, you know what, I'm sorry, if you take your person to a concert.
HAINES: Your sidepiece?
GOLDBERG: Well, I don’t know if she’s his side[piece] – There's so much that I'm interested in but I don't know -- I don't know what this is. I don't know if he was happily married, if she was happily -- I don't know any of that…
Goldberg was more upset that they were “too dumb” and went to a concert together in the first place:
GOLDBERG: I don't know any of that, but I do know that if you don't want people to know what you're doing, don't take them to concerts.
HOSTIN: Yeah.
FARAH GRIFFIN: With 60,000 people.
HOSTIN: That was weird.
GOLDBERG: Because you don't know who else is in this giant stadium of people. If you're doing that and you don't want people to know, what the hell?!
HOSTIN: Yeah.
GOLDBERG: They're just too dumb.
“So you got what you got inadvertently what you might have been looking for, which was you're out. But who can say? Not me because I ain't married,” Goldberg quipped before going to a commercial.

SARA HAINES: I think the reason people are keen to jump on this is infidelity is as old as time itself. And I think there’s a part of people that they’re looking at these two individuals and obviously not wanting the damning part for the family. Because I do say my heart goes out to the children and partners of these people who are having to watch this all play out. But the bigger thing people aren't talking about is how a CEO of a company should never be dating the head of HR. They are literally there to –
[Applause]
SUNNY HOSTIN: I mean.
HAINES: I mean, beyond the affair. These are the people that are supposed to implement company policy.
HOSTIN: That’s the part.
HAINES: There's a power dynamic, there is a question of like --
WHOOPI GOLDBERG: Sometimes you can't help who you want to get with! Sometimes you just can’t help it!
