Facts Feared by Leftist Media: Kamala Harris Is Not a ‘Moderate’

August 11th, 2020 6:17 PM

Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden finally announced that Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) will join him on the campaign trail as his running mate in the 2020 election. In addition to fawning for the “historic” nature of the pick Tuesday, the liberal media were all hands on deck to protect her from criticism. A key part of their strategy was to gaslight the public and falsely claim she was a “moderate.” But doing town halls with CNN came back to bite her, as her radical policy positions were exposed.

Below is a breakdown of what Harris has publically voiced as her positions on various issues during CNN town halls on January 28 and April 22 of 2019.

Medicare for All

“I believe the solution -- and I actually feel very strongly about this -- is that we need to have Medicare for all. That's just the bottom line.” (January 28)

“Well, I support Medicare for all. And I support it for a number of reasons. That include the fact that there are a lot of people in our country who simply do not have access to health care because they cannot afford it and that's unconscionable. And I actually believe it's a moral issue and it is a sign of whether or not we are going to be a civil society.” (April 22)

Eliminating Private Health Insurance

JAKE TAPPER: Correct me if I'm wrong. To reiterate, you support the Medicare for all bill, initially co-sponsored by Senator Bernie Sanders. You’re also a co-sponsor on it. I believe it will totally eliminate private insurance. So, for people out there who like their insurance, they don't get to keep it?

HARRIS: Well, listen, the idea is that everyone gets access to medical care, and you don't have to go through the process of going through an insurance company, having them give you approval, going through the paperwork, all of the delay that may require. Who of us has not had that situation where you've got to wait for approval, and the doctor says, ‘well, I don't know if your insurance company is going to cover this.’ Let's eliminate all of that. Let's move on. (January 28)

Green New Deal

“I support a green new deal, and I will tell you why. Climate change is an existential threat to us, and we have got to deal with the reality of it. We have got to deal with the reality of the fact that there are people trying to peddle some idea that we should deny it, and they're peddling science fiction instead of what we should do, which is rely on science fact.” (January 28)

“I support it because I, to my core, know that the climate crisis is representing an existential threat to who we are as human beings. We have supposed leaders pushing science fiction instead of science fact and this is to our collective peril, if we don't take this matter seriously with a sense of you are urgency. Why I support the green new deal is because it does that. It puts time lines into effect.” (April 22)

Anti-Gun

“Here's the thing. We have got to have smart gun safety laws in this country, and we've got to stop buying this false choice. You can be in favor of the Second Amendment and also understand that there is no reason in a civil society that we have assault weapons around communities that can kill babies and police officers.” (January 28)

“Upon being elected, I will give the United States Congress 100 days to get their act together and have the courage to pass reasonable gun safety laws. And if they fail to do it, then I will take executive action.” (April 22)

Boston Bomber Should Vote

DON LEMON: But people who are in -- convicted, in prison, like the Boston marathon bomber, on death row, people who are convicted of sexual assault, they should be able to vote?

HARRIS: I think we should have that conversation. (April 22)

Lowering the Voting Age

RACHEL DAMLE (Harvard University student): Do you think Americans have a right to vote at age 16?

HARRIS: I’m really interested in having that conversation. I have to tell you that. (…) And I believe if they had greater political power, maybe we would get our act together. (April 22)

So, the liberal media will flood the zone with lies about who Harris was and what she has supported in the past in order to protect their 2020 presidential ticket. But these are the facts straight from her own mouth.
