Ellen DeGeneres likes to say she doesn’t “get political” when it comes to her daytime talk show, but you’d never know it considering her show has been used as a platform for Democrats and their agenda over the years.
President Obama used her show to tout Obamacare while Michelle Obama used Ellen’s stage and got “jiggy with it” for her “Let’s Move” campaign to fight childhood obesity. Of course, Hillary Clinton used Ellen to promote herself as a “normal” and warm individual who related to the average American (all which failed miserably).
Ellen herself has used her show to gush over Hillary Clinton being the only choice for president, and insisted that Clinton didn’t have to answer questions about having a private server in her home.
Well, now it looks like Ellen has started using last summer’s big movie hit Finding Dory as another avenue. When Ellen, who is the voice of the movie’s main character, Dory, got wind that President Trump was hosting a screening of the movie for friends, family and employees last week, she decided to use the movie’s plot as a way to criticize President Trump’s immigration policy.
On Tuesday, Ellen told her audience: “I'm not political, so I'm not going to talk about the travel ban…I'm just going to talk about the very nonpolitical, family-friendly, People's Choice-award winning Finding Dory.”
DeGeneres goes on to explain that Dory was in Australia but wanted to locate her parents — somewhere in America. Dory and her friends — Marlin and Nemo — make the trek to America but land in a marine aquarium behind….you guessed it…a big wall.
“They all have to get over the wall, and you won’t believe it, but that wall has almost no effect in keeping them out,” DeGeneres told the audience. She continued:
But the other animals help Dory. Animals that don’t even need her. Animals that don’t have anything in common with her…They help her, even though they’re completely different colors. Because that’s what you do when you see someone in need — you help them.
DeGeneres ended her “non-political” but political talk and joked with her audience: “So that is what I hope everyone who’s watching Finding Dory has learned. Tune in next week when I explain women’s rights talking about the movie ‘Mr. Wrong.’”
I’m going to take a guess and say she’s probably not the right person to give advice when it comes to “Mr. Wrong.”
