MSNBC Brings On Scandal-Ridden Radical to Dictate Biden Agenda

December 16th, 2020 1:17 PM

On Tuesday afternoon, MSNBC decided to turn to far-left squad member Congresswoman Ilhan Omar to dictate a radical agenda for the incoming Biden administration. Of course none of the Democrat’s corruption scandals or history of anti-Semitism were discussed during the segment.

“Congresswoman, let me get your thoughts on how the administration is shaping up so far. Are you so far content with the type of progressive leaders we’re seeing named to this administration or not enough?,” partisan anchor Ayman Mohyeldin asked during the softball exchange. Omar declared: “As progressives, you know, we are still pushing to see more of us as part of the transition team and we’ll continue to do that.”

In his follow-up, Mohyeldin again focused on how Biden could appease the left: “...what are your priorities and that of other progressive members of the Democratic Party, beyond just representation, but in terms of agenda?” Omar predictably jumped at the chance to issue a series of socialist demands, which she hoped would be forced through by executive fiat:

We know what gets accomplished in the first 100 days are important for an administration and we’re asking, you know, President-Elect Biden and Harris to use their executive power in increasing the minimum wage to $15 for federal workers. We’re asking them to use their executive power to declare the climate crisis as a national emergency. We’re asking them to use their executive power in strengthening OSHA protections. We’re asking them to use their executive power in, you know, reinstating things like temporary protection status for so many people in our country. There are so many things that need to get done in regards to undoing the damage that has been done in the last four years.

Conveniently, Mohyeldin completely ignored Omar’s record of making anti-Semitic statements or being embroiled in multiple scandals.

The leftist lapdog media are the radical base of the Democratic Party, so they are happy to bring on anyone committed to dragging the country in that ideological direction.

This friendly chat with Omar was brought to MSNBC viewers by Progressive and Carvana. You can fight back by letting these advertisers know what you think of them sponsoring such content.

Here is a full transcript of the December 15 segment:

3:50 PM ET

JOE BIDEN: Kamala, seven of your colleagues have already called me, Republicans, seven of them, mostly seniors, saying they want to work with me, saying they want to work with us. And I may eat these words, but I predict to you, as Donald Trump’s shadow fades away, you’re going to see awful lot of change.

AYMAN MOHYELDIN: Okay, that was President-Elect Joe Biden last night talking about the handful of congressional Republicans who have recognized his win and claim they want to work with the incoming administration on issues including China and health care. Joining me now is Democratic Congresswoman Ilhan Omar of Minnesota. Congresswoman, it’s great to have you back on the program, thanks for your time. I’m curious to get your thoughts, do you agree with President-Elect Joe Biden and his view that there are some Republicans that will work across party lines?

REP. ILHAN OMAR [D-MN]: Hope springs eternal. And you know, I think all of us welcome if there are Republicans that are willing to work with us in delivering an economy that works for the American people. But we cannot forget the fact that Republicans, 126 of my colleagues, have fought to overturn this election. So many of them have refused to recognize that the President is – the President-Elect is President-Elect. And just the fact that they are now coming along to say that they’re willing to recognize him as the President-Elect should not allow for us to, you know, congratulate them. These are people who have fought to delegitimize his election and our democracy. And the fact that they’re only worried about how this is going to look if they block him on, you know, January 6th should be telling for all of us.

MOHYELDIN: And I should note the President-Elect is about to take the stage there, he just did, he’s about to begin his comments. Let me see if I can get one more question really quickly in there, and that has to do with the news today that Pete Buttigieg will be nominated for Transportation secretary. Give me your views so far on how the cabinet is shaped out.

Actually, let me just, if I can, congresswoman, before you begin to answer there, let’s just listen in to Joe Biden for a quick minute.

BIDEN: Great to be back. It really is. Let’s hear it for Keisha Lance Bottoms, the best in the business. Had my back through this whole deal. And give it up for Congresswoman-Elect Nikema Williams. Where is she? She here? Anyway, she – look, I have no doubt John Lewis is proud as can be. And what about the one and only Stacey Abrams [Applause]. Stacey, if we had 10 of you, we could rule the whole world, God love you. You’re doing an incredible job.

MOHYELDIN: We’re going to come back to President-Elect Biden in just a quick minute. But Congresswoman, let me get your thoughts on how the administration is shaping up so far. Are you so far content with the type of progressive leaders we’re seeing named to this administration or not enough?
OMAR: I mean, I have been excited to see how diligently they have worked to expedite the transition process, even though they have been faced with so many obstacles. As progressives, you know, we are still pushing to see more of us as part of the transition team and we’ll continue to do that. You know, we recently led a petition asking the administration to look at what they can accomplish in the first hundred days with their executive power. We continue to push for more people who are willing to fight for real progress in this country to be included in the transition and we’re just waiting to see, you know, what happens in the next couple of weeks, as we gear up to see them get sworn in.

MOHYELDIN: And let me ask you really quickly, what are your priorities and that of other progressive members of the Democratic Party, beyond just representation, but in terms of agenda?

OMAR: Yeah, so, you know, what we’re asking for the incoming administration is to come into this with eyes wide open. We recognize that the Republican Party will do everything that they can in their power to make sure this president is not successful. They have said they might begin to work with him in six months. Also, in stabilizing our country in regards to the economy and the coronavirus. But we also have an opportunity to leap into the future as we look at what it means to create an economy that works for everyone.

MOHYELDIN: Alright, Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, apologies for cutting it short.
