Nets Ignore Biden White House Banning NY Post Reporter Who Asked About Hunter

May 8th, 2023 8:44 PM

On Monday afternoon, it was revealed that the White House press office banned New York Post reporter Steven Nelson from covering President Biden’s remarks on so-called “airline accountability” where Biden and diversity hire Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg announced they would coerce airlines into providing passengers with hotel accommodations and free meals if their flights were canceled or delayed. The official reason given was that they were unable to accommodate Nelson. When in reality, photos published later in the day showed dozens of open seats

One could speculate that Nelson was targeted because of The Post’s hard-hitting and timely coverage of the rolling crime spree that is Joe Biden’s son Hunter and this was just retaliation days before the official indictment of Hunter was expected. Despite this shockingly blatant attack on the freedom of the press, the big three evening news broadcasts showed no interest in the Biden White House banning Nelson from Monday’s event.

Instead, the three networks spent time on a missing EMS worker in Cleveland, Ohio (ABC), a recent Taylor Swift concert held in the rain (CBS), and a segment hyping California’s proposal to pay reparations to African American citizens (NBC).

In contrast, Fox News which has regularly stood up for liberal outlets when they were banned from events during the Trump years, proved they aren’t massive hypocrites like the three networks and covered the Biden administration’s attack on the freedom of the press.

Turning to White House correspondent Jacqui Heinrich, Special Report anchor Bret Baier asked: “Tonight the New York Post is reporting that it was banned from the President's only event today as federal prosecutors we’re told are nearing a decision on possibly charging Hunter Biden. Why the ban?”

“That reporter who was not allowed into the event, Bret, often asks Hunter Biden questions. So one can really only guess,” Heinrich noted.

“This has been an ongoing issue with this press office limiting who can attend by issuing event credentials,” she added before revealing that “The Daily Caller was also initially denied a credential but they were allowed in eventually after their reporter pushed back.”

Heinrich ended by noting that “The White House overall has never explained why or how they determined who is and is not let into these things.”

Baier jumped back in to fully disclose that “the previous administration had their own list, sometimes it didn't get in. And we’ve been fighting for access all along.”

Anyone who falsely points out that Fox News wasn’t an objective news network should remember this moment. Special Report is one of the few objective newscasts left in the United States.

This bias by omission by the three networks was made possible by WeatherTech on ABC, Aleve on CBS, and Ensure on NBC. Their information is linked so you can contact them.

BRET BAIER: Jacqui, you know, tonight the New York Post is reporting that it was banned from the President's only event today as federal prosecutors we’re told are nearing a decision on possibly charging Hunter Biden. Why the ban?

JACQUI HEINRICH: Well, that reporter who was not allowed into the event, Bret, often asks Hunter Biden questions. So one can really only guess. But this has been an ongoing issue with this press office limiting who can attend by issuing event credentials. Now, we can tell you that The Daily Caller was also initially denied a credential but they were allowed in eventually after their reporter pushed back and the White House overall has never explained why or how they determined who is and is not let into these things, Bret.

BAIER: Yeah, we should point out the previous administration had their own list, sometimes it didn't get in. And we’ve been fighting for access all along. Jacqui, thank you.
