NBC's Todd Claims He's a 'Journalist' & 'Deals in Facts', Ron Johnson Schools Him

On Sunday's Meet the Press on NBC, host Chuck Todd made the laughable claim that he’s a journalist who “deals in facts” during a heated back and forth with Wisconsin Republican Senator Ron Johnson on the congressional investigation into President Joe Biden’s drug addict criminal son Hunter Biden. Anyone familiar with Todd’s journalistic track record will realize how absurd his comment was.

“I take it at your word that you’re ethically bothered by Hunter Biden,” Todd said to Johnson to which he shot back “are you not?”

“I’m a journalist. I have to deal in facts. Senator my question to you is, I have skepticism of both parties. I sit here with skepticism of a lot of people's work,” Todd said with a straight face.

Was it “deal[ing] in facts” when Todd claimed that bringing in more migrants will solve our nation’s inflation problem

What about when Todd dredged up a conspiracy theory that Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis flew migrants to Martha’s Vineyard to distract from an attempt to distract from Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) proposing a vote on pro-life legislation if Republicans take control of the Senate in the 2022 midterms?

There are plenty of examples of Todd being a fact-free leftist hack. Check out our Todd archive for all the lowlights here

In the same interview, Todd asked Johnson if he was concerned that “Senate Democrats want to investigate Jared Kushner's loan from the Qatari government when he was working in the government, negotiating many things in the Middle East.”

Todd never said if he suspects Kushner of committing tax fraud, lying on a firearm background check, or being a crack addict with illegitimate children.

Johnson eventually got fed up with Todd’s in-your-face leftist bias and went off on him:

You don't invite me on to interview me, you invite me on to argue with me. I'm just trying to lay out the facts that certainly Senator Grassley and I uncovered. They were suppressed, they were censored. They interfered in the 2020 election. Conservatives understand that.  Unfortunately, liberals in the media don’t. And that's part of the reasons our politics are inflamed. Is we do not have an unbiased media. We don’t it’s unfortunate. I’m all for a free press and it needs to be more unbiased.

Clearly triggered, Todd responded passive-aggressively “look we're trying to do issues here and facts. Look you can go back on your partisan cable cocoon and talk about media bias all you want. I understand it’s part of your identity.”

The problem for Johnson is that he already went on a partisan show: Chuck Todd’s Meet the Press

CHUCK TODD: I take it at your word that you’re ethically bothered by Hunter Biden. I’m curious though you seem to have a pattern.

SENATOR RON JOHNSON: Are you not?

TODD: I’m a journalist. I have to deal in facts. Senator my question to you is, I have skepticism of both parties. I sit here with skepticism of a lot of people's work.

JOHNSON: So do I.

TODD: And I’m curious, are you—were you at all concerned–your Senate Democrats want to investigate Jared Kushner's loan from the Qatari government when he was working in the government, negotiating many things in the Middle East? Are you not as concerned about that? Are you not concerned about that? I say that, because? It seems to me that you're concerned about what Hunter Biden did, you should be equally outraged about what Jared Kushner did.

JOHNSON: I’m concerned about getting the truth I don’t target individuals --

TODD: You don’t? You’re targeting Hunter Biden multiple times on this show, Senator. You’re targeting an individual.

JOHNSON: Chuck, my–you know, Chuck, part of the problem -- and this is pretty obvious to anybody watching is.

TODD: Senator, look—go to partisan—look we're trying to do issues here and facts. Look you can go back on your partisan cable cocoon and talk about media bias all you want. I understand it’s part of your identity.
