Nets Bury 'SHOCKING' Numbers of Migrants, Terrorists Crossing Border

October 24th, 2022 8:45 PM

On Friday evening, in a transparent attempt to hide the news as much as possible, the Department of Homeland Security released the highly anticipated border numbers for the month of September shortly after 11 p.m. The numbers were worse than expected and were historically bad. Since the big three evening newscasts had three days to digest the numbers, you would think they’d have the report ready for Monday’s newscasts.

Sadly, that was not the case. On Monday, all three evening newscasts ignored the devastating numbers from the ongoing Biden border crisis. Instead, ABC’s World News Tonight, CBS Evening News, and NBC Nightly News had plenty of time to report on local weather forecasts, the Powerball Jackpot numbers hitting $625 million, and a recall of various dry shampoo products.

As usual, it was left to Fox News Channel’s Special Report to do all the journalistic heavy lifting. Anchor Bret Baier — being the only real journalist left hosting a nightly newscast — was quick to report on the numbers. “We're getting a look at the border crossing numbers tonight from September. And they are shocking,” a stunned Baier announced.

Baier then turned to correspondent Bill Melugin for the full report from the border:

In what some critics describe as a blatant news dump, DHS released highly anticipated September border numbers late Friday night past 11:00 P.M. Eastern. And they are historic. The numbers reveal there were more than 227,000 migrant encounters in September. The highest September in DHS history. And the equivalent of two full-capacity University of Michigan football stadiums. Fiscal year 2022 ended with nearly 2.4 million migrant encounters. That's equivalent to the population of Houston and it's the highest fiscal year ever recorded. Not including 600,000 known got aways in a year.

Even more scary was the fact that there were 98 arrests of illegals crossing the border who are on the FBI’s terror watch list.

Interviewing former border patrol chief Rodney Scott, he told Melugin that “those are just the ones that we actually encountered.” Adding: “how many more were smart enough to wait until border patrol agents were overwhelmed and then come across?”

Proving that this trend is continuing, Melugin reported that “Fox News witnessed another large group of migrants crossing illegally on the north side of Eagle Pass,” and that “CBP forces tell Fox in this Del Rio sector in just the first three weeks of October alone, there have already been more than 29,000 illegal crossings here.”

Even more tragic, Melugin ended by revealing that “CBP sources tell Fox News a staggering 856 migrants died here at our southern border in fiscal year 2022. That is the highest number ever recorded.”

Sadly, the three leftist news networks couldn’t care less so long as this is happening under a Democrat President. As long as the Biden border crisis continues, expect ABC, CBS, & NBC to continue bringing you local weather reports and shampoo recalls. Or any superficial, irrelevant news to distract you from the real stories.

This latest outrageous example of bias by omission from the three networks was made possible by Febreze on ABC, Ensure on CBS, and WeatherTech on NBC. Their information is linked so you can contact them about the biased news they fund.

6:04:09 p.m. Eastern

BRET BAIER: We're getting a look at the border crossing numbers tonight from September. And they are shocking. Migrant encounters and terror suspect arrests at the border were at record levels. Our crews there down on the border continue to witness large groups of illegal immigrants coming into the country every day. Correspondent Bill Melugin is once again in Eagle Pass, Texas tonight.

BILL MELUGIN: In what some critics describe as a blatant news dump, DHS released highly anticipated September border numbers late Friday night past 11:00 P.M.

There were also 98 border patrol arrests of suspects on the FBI's terror watch list in fiscal year 2022. That's nearly quadrupled the previous five fiscal years combined.

RODNEY SCOTT (FORMER BORDER PATROL CHIEF): Those are just the ones that we actually encountered. How many more were smart enough to wait until border patrol agents were overwhelmed and then come across?

MELUGIN: Early this morning. Fox News witnessed another large group of migrants crossing illegally on the north side of Eagle Pass. CBP forces tell Fox in this Del Rio sector in just the first three weeks of October alone, there have already been more than 29,000 illegal crossings here. In the Rio Grande valley, video provided by law enforcement source, shows a group of drug smugglers in broad daylight loading up a waiting vehicle with bundles of drugs. Texas DPS later pursued and arrested the driver. An 18-year-old U.S. citizen. In his trunk, 10 bundles of marijuana totaling 240 pounds.

And, Bret, CBP sources tell Fox News a staggering 856 migrants died here at our southern border in fiscal year 2022. That is the highest number ever recorded. Yet, another record shattered. We’ll send it back to you.

BAIER: Bill Melugin along the border. Thanks.
