On Monday night's edition of NBC Nightly News, correspondent Andrea Mitchell did all she could to make excuses and cover for President Biden's outright lies and excuses for the skyrocketing price of gasoline. Going as far as to let Biden claim he brought gas prices down $1.60 before the "Russians and the Saudis" let it move back up. This of course is a flat-out lie. But Mitchell is always happy to cover for the Biden regime and Democrats in Congress.
Helping Biden entirely skirt blame for rising gas prices, Mitchell led off her report by parroting her party's talking points. "The Saudi announcement, a blow to American consumers and a gut punch to President Biden," Mitchell bemoaned.
Mitchell then added that "despite his fist bump summit with the Saudi crown prince, when the administration thought they could get a deal to keep production up and prices low before the midterms."
She then aired Biden's pants-on-fire lie that he lowered gas prices by $1.60:
I was able to bring gasoline down well over $1.60 but it's inching up because of what the Russians and the Saudis just did.
Mitchell let that doozie slide. If former President Donald Trump had said something that laughably false, Mitchell would immediately note in her report that what Trump said was untrue. Biden is a Democrat so he gets a free pass. Then there's the fact that when prices were skyrocketing earlier this year, White House talking points became the media's refrain saying there was nothing Biden could do about the price of gas. But suddenly now he dropped it by $1.60?
Continuing to sing from the Democrat Party sheet music, Mitchell listed a number of solutions Biden could pick from that would allegedly lower the cost of gas. Notably missing was allowing oil companies to freely drill for oil:
One option, release more oil from the strategic petroleum reserve. But it's dangerously low. The President has already released more than 200 million barrels this year. Another possibility, lift sanctions on Venezuela so it can pump more oil. But that country's strongman Nicolas Maduro has still not delivered on democratic reforms. Or pressure U.S. oil companies to keep prices down.
Mitchell ended by fretting how none of the solutions Biden could choose from to ease pain at the pump for consumers will happen soon enough to help Democrats in the upcoming midterm elections. "The problem for the White House, most of the solutions are long-term, which won't help them for the midterms," Mitchell bemoaned.
The media doesn't care about middle-class Americans struggling to afford to fill their cars so they can go to and from work. Their only concern is for the well-being of the Democrat Party. The middle-class can go bankrupt for all they care.

REP. TOM MALINOWSKI (D-NJ): I would reconsider why we provide for the security of a country that seems to have no concern for the security of ours and our allies.

DAN DICKER (ENERGY WORLD FOUNDER): They've sort of run out of bullets. U.S. Producers won't listen to them. The Saudis won't listen to them. Again, it really is at its core a supply issue. He has to find somebody who's going to pump more. And nobody's -- nobody wants to do that right now.
