The Elitist Media Evening News, with their collective devotion to the propagation of anti-news in furtherance of domestic political objectives, mostly omitted a major developing story within our own hemisphere: the socialist government’s shift to persecution of their recently-vanquished opposition.
In case you were wondering whether Brazilian President “Lula” da Silva gets leftist deference from the American media, consider the brief that ran on ABC World News Tonight:
South American leftists getting deferential treatment on American news media, Exhibit 459974651: ABC's brief on Lula that omits mentioning both the glaring electoral irregularities (stopped count, judicial extension of polling station hours in select areas) and post-election… pic.twitter.com/mvwgAY8SoV

DAVID MUIR: Meantime, the results of another election tonight. Brazil's left-wing president winning a surprise fourth term, holding off a shift to the right across the region. President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva defeating right-wing challenger Flavio Bolsonaro in a runoff there, gaining more than 10 million votes in the second round of voting. Bolsonaro refusing to concede. His father, former President Jair Bolsonaro, also lost to Lula. He’s now under house arrest for an attempted coup.
The tiny brief, buried at the bottom of A-block, features three major omissions. The first, a highly controversial Supreme Court ruling by Lula’s former defense attorney, that stopped the count after polls closed and reordered certain precincts in Lula strongholds to reopen for two hours. I explained it thus as it happened live:
Imagine the Supreme Court stopping the count after polls close and ordering polls reopen for two hours ONLY in Philadelphia, Detroit, Milwaukee, and Atlanta, and you sort of get the scope of what's currently happening in Brazil.

How does that not make it into the report, especially since Muir notes Lula’s 10-million vote pickup? Additionally, compare the omission of both the ruling and the judge that issued it to how the networks cover anything related to Attorney General Todd Blanche, wherein there is ALWAYS an obligatory mention of Blanche’s past service as President Trump’s defense counsel.
Then there is the omission of the persecution of Bolsonaro. Lula threatened Bolsonaro with prosecution during one of their debates:

LULA DA SILVA: Prepare yourself that you will lose immunity and you will have a problem, because your life has a lot of investigations that will now move forward.
Sure enough, leftist politicians called for the seizure of Bolsonaro’s passport the moment the election was called, and Lula’s Federal Police obliged. Outlaw Supreme Court Alexandre de Moraes issued a surrender order the next morning, which was served to Bolsonaro as he was visiting his father.
Finally, there is the omission of Lula’s call for social media censorship during his victory speech:
In his first speech after "winning" the election, Lula calls for censorship of social media. Full blown communism, and the clapping seals around him embrace it. https://t.co/YOBhnv2IqF

Lula went on to say that “a crime in the digital world has to be treated the same as a crime in real life.” Terrifying authoritarian stuff that the American viewer doesn’t see because coverage of so many of the stories of the day are viewed through the lens of Donald Trump, even though Trump offered no endorsement in this particular race.
The common thread here is that the media are perfectly fine with authoritarian weaponization of government in the defense of left-managed Democracy™, hence their omission of Elissa Slotkin’s threat against young conservatives seeking to enter government.
Only ABC offered a brief on the Brazilian election, CBS and ABC did not. As of this writing, Bolsonaro’s party has conceded the election and there are reports that Bolsonaro is attempting to flee to the United States. We’ll be watching, and we’ll see what the press continues to omit.
