CNN’s Navarro Laments Media Dismissing Democrat Infighting

August 9th, 2015 11:06 AM

Appearing on CNN’s State of the Union on Sunday, Republican strategist and CNN contributor Ana Navarro complained that members of the press continue to ignore Democratic infighting, especially with the “Black Lives Matter” movement.

Navarro reacted to “Black Lives Matter” protestors in Seattle who interrupted Bernie Sanders over the weekend and admitted that she was “sorry that it's not getting more air time” compared to Donald Trump.

The CNN contributor noticed that while the media was jumping all over the problems between Donald Trump and the rest of the GOP, it seemed to completely miss the civil war taking place on the Democratic side:

I’m just sorry that Donald Trump is sucking up all the oxygen and we're not seeing all the division and strife and craziness that's going on on their side.

Tapper insisted that Navarro must be “enjoying” the Democratic infighting in the same way Democrats love watching Trump, but the CNN contributor pushed back and said that while “Black Lives Matter” confronting Democrats was getting noticed within the Democratic Party, the media has yet to truly cover the party’s problems:

To me, it was unbelievable to see, frankly, what was a handful of protesters stop and disrupt and put an end to what were thousands of Democrats there. Thousands upon thousands waiting for over an hour, maybe even much more than that, to listen to Bernie Sanders. So I'm not sure that that is -- are they getting attention? Absolutely. Are they getting allies? I'm not sure that that's the best way of doing it.

JAKE TAPPER: You must be enjoying this the same way that the Democrats are enjoying Donald Trump causing all the kerfuffles he is. You must be enjoying the Sturm and Drang about Bernie Sanders, Hillary Clinton, “Black Lives Matter.”

I’m just sorry that Donald Trump is sucking up all the oxygen and we're not seeing all the division and strife and craziness that's going on on their side.
