Colbert’s Joke & Guest Count Attacks Republicans & Elevates Democrats
Since 2015, The Late Show has been hosted by Stephen Colbert, who by the time Thursday comes around will have hosted 1,801 episodes of the show that began under David Letterman in 1993. Colbert’s tenure will be remembered for its partisan agenda of attacking Republicans and elevating Democrats.
In November 2025, Stephen Colbert was well into his farewell media tour after CBS announced in July that it would be ending The Late Show when he told GQ, “I think I'm more conservative than people think.” However, according to an aggregation of previous NewsBusters studies that is hard to take seriously.
Since NewsBusters began counting jokes in January 2023, Colbert has told 87 percent of his political jokes about conservatives. Likewise, since September 2022, 99 percent of his political guests have been liberals.
Over the span of the last 458 Late Show episodes, NewsBusters has logged 8,542 political jokes. Of these, Colbert told 7,471 (87 percent) about conservatives, 933 (11 percent) about liberals, and 138 (2 percent) about nonpartisan people or organizations.
The top ten joke targets: Donald Trump (3,637), Joe Biden (339), George Santos (269), Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as a Republican (208), Republicans (180), JD Vance (151), Pete Hegseth (146), Elon Musk (143), Kristi Noem (106), and Rudy Giuliani (104).
What Fraud Scandals? Google News Goes to Bat for Democrats as Midterms Approach
Google News completely omitted coverage of multiple major fraud scandals involving Democrats from its top morning stories in April.
The excluded stories included a Department of Justice indictment against the Southern Poverty Law Center and ethics violations by a Florida congresswoman.
Right-leaning media outlets were heavily sidelined, making up less than three percent of the total analyzed stories on the platform.
Left-leaning outlets dominated the feed at nearly seventy percent, which critics argue is a deliberate effort to shield Democrats before the midterm elections.
CNN's Jennings Rips Massie's Despicable, Anti-Semitic Comments
CNN commentator Scott Jennings strongly condemned Representative Thomas Massie for making remarks widely criticized as anti-Semitic.
The controversy centered on statements made regarding Israel and Jewish influence in American politics.
Jennings described the rhetoric as despicable and argued that it crossed the line from policy debate into blatant bigotry.
The segment highlighted a growing division within modern political discourse regarding the limits of acceptable criticism.
Sunny Hostin Claims BLM Uprisings Didn't Destroy Much, Eggs
Sunny Hostin co-host of The View sparked intense debate by downplaying the property destruction associated with the Black Lives Matter protests.
Hostin used a controversial metaphor comparing the civil unrest to making an omelet which requires breaking a few eggs.
Critics quickly pushed back against the comment arguing that it minimized the severe economic impact on local businesses and community communities.
The discussion underscored the ongoing cultural divide over the characterization and legacy of the civil rights demonstrations.
