In recent days, Fox News gave coverage to Saturday attacks against immigration enforcement agents in Chicago which included an illegal alien who actually shot at them.
By contrast MSNBC not only ignored the anti-ICE violence, but continued their months long campaign of demonizing immigration agents.
On Monday's Special Report, host Bret Baier recalled: "Federal agents here in the Chicago area are on alert tonight following word they are being targeted by leaders of a major street gang. This comes as Border Patrol agents are attacked by an individual shooter."
Correspondent Mike Tobin then began his report: "Chicago police get caught in the unrest in the Little Village neighborhood after DHS says a man drove up in a jeep and fired shots at Border Patrol agents."
After a clip of Border Patrol commander Greg Bovino noting that the assailant has a previous felony conviction, Tobin showed viewers images of damage done to federal vehicles in Chicago and informed viewers that a gang has called for federal agents to be killed:
DHS released pictures of federal vehicles damaged after at least four were rammed this week, and others were pelted with bricks and cans of paint. Border Patrol agents were alerted that the street gang Latin Kings directed their membership to shoot on sight federal agents operating as part of Operation Midway Blitz.
The Fox reporter soon linked such violence to incendiary anti-ICE rhetoric from Democrats:
TOBIN: Federal agents and their top brass say the rhetoric from elected officials in Illinois calling agents everything from Nazis to barbarians triggers violence and lawlessness.
MICHAEL RODRIGUEZ, CHICAGO ALDERMAN: We were protesting peacefully when, for no reason, the Gestapo let go of flash bangs.
TOBIN: Leaders in Washington anticipate more violence as people in the neighborhoods are encouraged to form mobs, record with their phones, and make noise each time agents make arrests.
On Tuesday's Fox & Friends, Todd Piro informed viewers:
Homeland Security says the suspect is a Mexican national with previous convictions for felony possession of a weapon, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, and illegal entry. Border Patrol confirming he is now in custody after being accused of driving up near federal agents and opening fire near the city's Little Village neighborhood. He is currently marked as a violator of the Laken Riley Act pending charges relating to assaulting officers.
Then came clips of Bovino giving more information about the alleged perpetrator's criminal history:
This is indeed an illegal alien that had a prior felony conviction for firearms. (editing jump) When we talk illegal aliens and possession of a firearm, this individual should have never been walking the streets of Chicago. (editing jump) This individual should not have been in this country, so the fact that he has reviolated again and still has a firearm is, I tell you that that's very concerning to us in law enforcement.
By contrast, on the same day that the violence occurred, MSNBC gave a forum to liberal guests accusing DHS of terrorism, and praised an anti-ICE protester. For several months on the liberal news network, ICE agents have been called "Gestapo," "thugs," "cowards," and "clowns" and have been repeatedly been accused of "terrorizing" people while viewers are rarely informed of violent felons like murderers and sexual predators whom they arrest.

BREIT BAIER: Federal agents here in the Chicago area are on alert tonight following word they are being targeted by leaders of a major street gang. This comes as Border Patrol agents are attacked by an individual shooter. Senior correspondent Mike Tobin has the story in Chicago tonight.
MIKE TOBIN: Chicago police get caught in the unrest in the Little Village neighborhood after DHS says a man drove up in a jeep and fired shots at Border Patrol agents. Now, after shell casings and video were collected from the scene, multiple agencies tracked the shooter, and a suspect is in custody.
GREG BOVINO, BORDER PATROL COMMANDER: An illegal alien that has a past felony conviction for firearms, this suspect is in custody, and they're pursuing leads based on this suspect, and it appears he was in the jeep, and he was armed.
TOBIN: DHS released pictures of federal vehicles damaged after at least four were rammed this week, and others were pelted with bricks and cans of paint. Border Patrol agents were alerted that the street gang Latin Kings directed their membership to shoot on sight federal agents operating as part of Operation Midway Blitz.
BOVINO: A shoot on sight threat for federal law enforcement, that's extremely concerning to us. We actually put that on an intelligence bulletin to all federal law enforcement, especially Border Patrol.
TODD LYONS, ACTING ICE DIRECTOR: It's really disgusting, and the fact that they keep trying to turn the tables on ICE with this crazy rhetoric that makes us out to being the bad guys for doing a law enforcement mission.

LAWRENCE JONES: So an illegal immigrant with a criminal history has been arrested for allegedly shooting at Border Patrol agents in Chicago this weekend. Todd Piro joins us with the details. Good morning.
TODD PIRO: Good morning to you, Lawrence.
GREGORY BOVINO, BORDER PATROL COMMANDER: This is indeed an illegal alien that had a prior felony conviction for firearms.
PIRO: DHS says, quote, "This incident is not isolated and reflects a growing and dangerous trend of violence and obstruction" as protesters continued to throw rocks, bricks, and cans of paint following the shooting.
DHS Secretary Kristi Noem ripping the blue state's leadership, saying, "Governor Pritzker is protecting violent criminal illegal aliens who want American law enforcement officers dead. This is a battle between law and order, good and evil -- and we will prevail."
In regard to violence against immigration enforcement officers, DHS reports ICE agents are facing an 8,000 percent increase in death threats against them. Lawrence, that's not right. Back over to you.
JONES: Terrible. Thanks, Todd.
