Ex-Newsweek's Fineman: 'Amazing' That 'Weak' Romney 'Only a Few Points Behind Obama'

April 4th, 2012 7:43 AM

Appearing on a special 11:00 p.m. edition of The Ed Show on MSNBC to discuss the night's presidential primary results, the Huffington Post's Howard Fineman - formerly of Newsweek - acknowledged President Obama's weak position in the polls as he noted that Mitt Romney, despite his weaknesses as a presidential candidate, still manages to come in only a few points behind Obama in the latest Gallup poll.

At about 11:15 p.m., Fineman observed:

I frankly think it's amazing, given how weak a candidate Romney is, that he's only behind by a few points in the Gallup poll and in the national polls. Barack Obama should be way out ahead, given how weak Romney is. what that shows you in the end this is going to be a close election, Ed. I really think so.
