Ironic: Actress Excited to Buy Christmas Cards Supporting Planned Parenthood

There’s nothing that spells irony like buying Christmas cards – cards celebrating Jesus’ birth – that also benefit an organization that ensures millions of babies are never born.

On Tuesday, actress Sara Coates asked her Twitter fans where to buy cards for Christmas that supported Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider.

Coates is best known for acting in the movie Laggies, alongside Keira Knightley. She also stars in the TV series Z Nation.

“Where can I buy Christmas Cards that benefit women’s rights and planned parenthood?” she wanted to know on Twitter.

When one of her followers recommended cardsforcauses.com, Coates responded, “Yay!!! Thank you!!!” Began in 2006, the Texas-based card company gives “20% of the card price to the charity of the customer’s choice.”

While it does not “represent or endorse” any of the charities, it lists Planned Parenthood Federation of America as a “health” charity that customers can give to when they purchase cards.

Ironically, several of those cards feature nativity scenes. Four of them read “For Unto Us a Child is Born.”

According to Planned Parenthood’s most recently published annual report, the organization performed 328,348 abortions and received $554.6 million in “government health services grants and reimbursements” for the year 2015 – 2016.

This isn’t the first time the entertainment world has compared the birth of Jesus to abortion (think: ABC’s Scandal playing “Silent Night” for an abortion scene).
