Macaulay Culkin Signals Support for Removing Trump from ‘Home Alone 2’

Former child actor Macaulay Culkin is making his own contribution to our society’s slow descent into political correctness-driven madness.

The former Home Alone star and famous friend of Michael Jackson decided to support a petty, vindictive and frankly, downright idiotic petition to have a two second clip of Donald Trump removed from Home Alone 2

Getting caught up in the Twitter outrage towards the president who was impeached on the accusation that he “incited” a mob to storm the U.S. Capitol a week prior, the 40 year-old actor told fans he approved of Trump’s cameo being digitally removed from the film.

The now iconic scene featured a young Culkin traipsing around the New York Plaza Hotel and encountering Donald Trump, the then-real estate mogul and owner of the building. Alone and looking for directions, Culkin’s character, Kevin McAllister, asks Trump, “Excuse me, where’s the lobby,” and he responds, “down the hall and to the left.” Yeah pretty silly stuff, but boy, is it infuriating that Trump is in a beloved Hollywood movie.

One Twitter user floated the idea of coming up with a petition to “cancel” Trump from the Christmas movie. “Petition to digitally replace trump in ‘home alone 2’ with 40-year-old macaulay culkin,” the user tweeted on January 10. Though she must have been surprised when the star of the movie commented an approving “Sold.” on her idea three days later from his Twitter account.

Another fan got an approving nod from Culkin for his own digital removal of the current president from the Christmas movie. User “@maxschramp” tweeted out a video of the scene with Trump blurred out and his audio cut, with the caption, “due to popular request I have removed trump from home alone.”

The clip went viral, receiving over 100 thousand likes on the platform and caught the attention of the former child actor as well. Culkin responded to the tweet, writing, “Bravo.” Of course, it’s silly stuff, but going through the effort to remove someone from a film because of their political stance just shows how easily the left slips into censorship.

Sure, it’s just a movie clip, but similar motivations to cancel Trump in the wake of the Capitol riots have resulted in real world damage to Trump and his brand. The PGA has pulled a golf tournament from one of the president’s courses and several banks, including Deutsche Bank, have decided to cut ties with Trump.

And who could forget Twitter and Facebook’s total removal of the president since the attack, though one can make a compelling argument Trump didn’t incite the violence.

Removing Trump from Home Alone 2 is just a small taste of what the left is attempting to do to conservatives who stand in their way. Perhaps it’s just a joke for Culkin, but he should remember that he too could get removed from Home Alone should he run afoul of the left’s totalitarian narrative.
