Mike Tyson is in Trump’s Corner, Muslim Ban or Not

Ironic that some of the most vocal support Donald Trump would receive from the sports world, after declaring he wants to ban Muslim entry into the U.S., would come from…well…a Muslim. But Iron Mike Tyson has put the Iron in Irony by doing just that.

Tyson defended Trump in a TMZ video, which was transcribed by The Hill:

“Anybody that was ever president of the United States offended some group of people or some groups of people were offended,” Tyson, a practicing Muslim who endorsed Trump earlier this year, told TMZ Sports in a video Monday.

“Ask his fans if he needs to apologize,” he added. "He’s still ahead in the polls and he deserves a chance. If they don’t like him, they shouldn’t vote for him. Let’s go to the polls and see who wins.”

Tyson said the voters, not the media, should deliver the verdict on Trump's controversial proposal.

“Keep it fair,” the retired heavyweight champ said. "Man for man, debate for debate.

“You can talk about Trump, Trump can talk about those people,” he added of the crowded GOP field. "We’ll see who wins.”

Leave it to someone who made his living in the arena, to suggest that politicians should win or lose in the arena of ideas. And not in the realm of political correctness.

Also, how cool is it to have someone remind the “offended,” that instead of trying to censor someone or retreat behind some “safe zone,” you could exact your revenge by simply not voting for the person you find offensive?

Really good stuff. Mike Tyson now makes more sense than CNN. Carry on.
