Dallas riot police responded Thursday when angry protesters blocked the streets outside the Republican National Committee (RNC) midterm convention in Dallas, Texas, videos posted online by an independent journalist at the scene show.

“BREAKING: Dallas Riot Police are rolling in HEAVY to take on leftist rioters who are BLOCKING ROADS outside the RNC,” journalist and influencer Nick Sorter wrote on his X.com account at 3:45 PM, sharing the first of his multiple videos documenting the incident.

Less than 10 minutes later, Sortor posted video of what he described as “a full on STANDOFF between Dallas Police and leftist rioters taking over the streets outside the RNC.” Sortor reported that police had “completely” blocked the protesters’ march.

At 4:15 PM, Sortor introduced his next video post by describing some of the protesters’ signs calling for Republican President Donald Trump to be killed and making wild, unfounded accusations against him:

“Trantifa’s wannabe militants are out here carrying around signs calling for President Trump to be EXECUTED. One even depicts his head on a CROSS. Not to mention all the signs calling him a “CHILD RAPlST” and other totally made up BS.”
