LOL: Dallas Morning News Runs Piece by Angry ‘Republican’ Later Exposed as Dem Consultant

Leave it to the hacks in the liberal media to dress up Democrat consultants as virtue-signaling Republicans supposedly choosing country over party by voting left-wing.

The Dallas Morning News published an anti-Greg Abbott op-ed by author Suzanne Bellsnyder October 31 headlined, “I’m a Republican, but Gina Hinojosa has my vote,” presumably to illustrate party crossover in the Texas gubernatorial race.

However, it was later revealed that Bellsnyder was a paid consultant of the Democratic Hinojosa campaign, which wasn’t disclosed by The Morning News prior to publication. According to Transparency USA, the Hinojosa campaign paid at least $57,000 to Bellsnyder for consulting services, adding to the egregiousness of the newspaper’s acute negligence.

The newspaper added a humiliating editor’s note to the piece, “After the publication of this column, the author confirmed to The Dallas Morning News that she is a paid consultant of the Hinojosa campaign. She did not disclose this at the time of submission or during the editing process.” The newspaper pontificated that it was supposedly committed to make readers “aware of all conflicts and potential conflicts. Had we been aware of this conflict, we would have declined to publish this piece. We regret that we were not.”  Guess what: The piece is still live on the website.

Talk about trying to cover your rear end!

Hearkening to the shenanigans plaguing the Alaskan senate election involving alleged attempts by Democrats to defraud voters, Bellsynder told independent media platform Current Revolt that the Hinojosa campaign “knew I was writing” the op-ed. This points to a last minute attempt to deceive Texas voters about Republicans turning their backs on the party, with the Morning News editors effectively being complicit. Bellsnyder’s own words prove the point:

No governor can rebuild public confidence in education alone. It will take legislators from both parties, business leaders, educators, parents and communities willing to do the work together. When Gina reached out to me on that tractor, she began building trust. Politically, we root for different teams. But as two moms, we found that we shared a passion for public education and preparing our kids for the future they deserve. That is the kind of leadership Texas needs.

Queue the canned laughter. Turns out Bellsnyder is about as much of a “Republican” as Ana Navarro.
