Network Cover-Up: Soros Backed Chicago Trump Protesters

Imagine if the Koch brothers supported disruptive protests that shut down a Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders rally, The broadcast news networks would be tripping over each other to tell the story.

But because it was Soros-funded groups undermining free speech and silencing a Trump rally, the morning and evening news on ABC, NBC, and CBS haven’t even hinted at that part of the story from the canceled rally on Friday, March 11, 2016 through March 14, 2016’s evening news shows.

After shutting down the event, “But protesters were jubilant, and celebrated along the intersections on the city’s Near West Side. Some protesters shut down lanes of a nearby expressway,” according to The New York Times. CNN reported that at least two officers were injured, including one who was hit on the head with a bottle. Four people were also arrested and a CBS reporter was detained.

The protest was organized by University of Illinois students, and supported by local labor organizations, Black Lives Matter, and (which endorsed Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders), the Los Angeles Times reported. Soros has given at least $33 million to Black Lives Matter, and $1.46 million to, but in the nearly 84 minutes of coverage since the event, the networks haven’t mentioned a dime.

They’ve also blamed Trump for the campaign violence 15 times more than they’ve blamed the liberal protesters.

Frank Luntz, pollster and CBS News contributor, was the only person to mention that the Chicago protest had any outside support -- but even he didn’t mention their connection to Soros.

“They were trying to get as many tickets as they could to prevent people who really wanted to hear Donald Trump speak,” Luntz said on the Monday, March 14’s CBS This Morning. “This is part of the strategy, was to deny Trump -- people who really wanted to hear him.”

The complete silence on Soros isn’t surprising though. The networks have a history of ignoring what he does and covering the Koch brothers 9 times more than Soros and other top liberal donors. took credit for “proudly” supporting students and “local organizers” during the protest, and “helped student leaders by printing signs and recruiting MoveOn members to attend the student-led protest.”

After the protesters successfully attacked democracy by shutting down the Trump rally, ironically claimed, “Love and democracy must prevail over violence and hate.”

One activist said that the goal was to interrupt Trump and shut him “all the way down.” Their goal, he told the Associated Press, is "for Donald to take the stage and to completely interrupt him. The plan is to shut Donald Trump all the way down."

The Soros-funded hinted in a fundraising email that it would continue to assault free speech during the election. “We will not be silent. We will not be invisible,” the email declared.
