It is time for the pundits to get a grip and realize that the election for president is not about the candidates lusting for the job. It's not about campaign strategies, speeches, gotcha journalism and gaffes. It is about the fundamentals and the state of the nation.

Usually liberals have the decency to wait a few months after one of their rape fantasies collapses to start citing the case as "unresolved" -- it was a tie, the game was rained out, we'll never know what happened. But with the apocryphal University of Virginia gang rape, lefties started in right away with the "I guess we'll never know what happened" rewrite.   

In the video announcing her presidential candidacy, Hillary Clinton says the economic deck "is still stacked in favor of those at the top." She should know because she has gobbled up a lot of cash for speaking fees and the Clinton Foundation. 

Please forgive me, but I'm singularly unimpressed with Hillary Clinton in general, but especially as a Democratic presidential candidate.

From the Duke lacrosse team, the Columbia mattress girl and the University of Virginia, the left has not been able to produce one actual rape on a college campus. It's beginning to look as if the rape of the Sabine women never happened, either. Someone's going to have to go back and investigate.

If Hillary Clinton survives her myriad real scandals and becomes the Democratic presidential candidate for 2016, are we going to be bludgeoned with sexism the same way Barack Obama's supporters have exploited "racism"?   If recent rumblings from Clinton supporters are any indication, I'm afraid this could be the case.

The idea of rule by a wise philosopher-king goes back at least 2,500 years to the writing of Plato. However, the self-serving interpretation of that ideal by today's political elites is not at all what Plato had in mind. Spock would never agree to lead such a self-serving elite. 

It's possible that Muir knew his Ferguson recap last week was a complete lie and decided his best course was to promote the left-leaning agenda of ABC News. He's a pretty face spouting the same old propaganda.

The Economist magazine recently published "What's gone wrong with Democracy ... and what can be done to revive it?" The suggestion is that democracy is some kind of ideal for organizing human conduct. That's a popular misconception.
