CNN Ignores Sen. Feinstein Wanting to Take Healthcare.gov Offline

Prominent Democratic Senator Dianne Feinstein (Calif.) said she warned the White House to take Healthcare.gov offline until the site was fixed, but the administration wouldn't do it. CNN made no mention of her claim, made on Sunday's Face the Nation, and didn't ask her about it when she appeared on Monday's The Situation Room.

"I felt, and I said this directly to the President's chief of staff, they ought to take down the website until it was right," Feinstein said of the site's technical problems. "They believe that they need to keep it running and that they can sort out the difficulties," she added.

National Review reported that Feinstein, chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee, has had a private briefing "on the security weaknesses of Healthcare.gov." On Monday's The Situation Room, host Wolf Blitzer had a chance to ask her about her take on ObamaCare but they instead talked about the TSA, the NSA controversy, and mental health and guns.

After Feinstein's CBS interview, Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Mich.), chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, re-affirmed his concerns over the website's security. CNN didn't report his comments either.

"And unfortunately both Dianne and I both know the real threats to these systems when you have nation states and organized crime groups and criminals trying to get information that is now available on these websites. They need to take the site down, stabilize it, meaning they can't continue to add code every week. And then they need to stress-test the system," Rogers insisted.
