The anti-ICE media has hammered their narrative since the Thursday shooting of a criminal illegal alien in New York City. They painted the criminal and his five-year-old son in the car as the victims, and never mind the criminal ramming other vehicles.
On Friday, network newscasts concentrated on calls to abolish ICE. The slanted reporting has been so blatant, DHS has called it out. On his PoliticsNation show on Saturday, longtime ambulance-chaser Rev. Al Sharpton added radical DSA Congresswoman-In-Waiting Darializa Avila Chevalier to the mix.
Sharpton began the segment by talking over a very short clip of NYPD bodycam footage approaching Oscar Belgal's car, before it moves forward and out of the picture. Sharpton pointed out, "His five year old son was in the back seat. Thankfully, the child was not hurt."
He did repeat DHS's claim that ICE agents feared for their lives as the car moved towards them, but never once mentioned Oscar Belgal's illegal status or his criminal history, before welcoming in his guest, who as expected went after both ICE and NYPD, while bizarrely advocating for the arrest of "the shooter."
CHEVALIER: When I arrived on Thursday evening, I was told by NYPD that NYPD was controlling the crime scene, and I asked explicitly whether it was a crime scene because of the crash or a crime scene because of the shooting. Because what would follow is logically, you would apprehend the person who was driving if it was about a crash. But if it was about a shooting, you would apprehend the shooter. And to my knowledge, no shooter has been apprehended.
Logically? The driver was shot and apprehended. The ICE agent is the shooter! Sharpton said nothing.
Sharpton then played a video of his guest which placed her right in the middle of a chaotic scene outside the hospital where Belgal was taken, and she painted herself as wannabe peace maker, and victim.
SHARPTON: You say you were trying to de-escalate the situation when an NYPD officer shoved you to the ground.... Take us into that moment. What were you trying to do? And what did you see from the NYPD that night that troubled you?
Sharpton might have prefaced his softball question or tagged it with the fact that Chevalier was arrested last month at an anti-Netanyahu protest outside of the U.N., and reportedly has deleted posts calling to abolish police, and prisons, but of course he never mentioned any of this. The DSA are anti-police agitators, not peacemakers.
She then described the scene outside the hospital, and made excuses for protesters that were attempting to block an unmarked law enforcement vehicle, and blamed police for reacting.
After leveling more accusations against NYPD, she described being pushed to the ground, while trying to help a police officer and a woman who had themselves been pushed to the ground, but never said that it was an officer who pushed her.
She then repeated part the narrative being pushed by the media.
CHEVALIER: It is so deeply concerning that at a time where people are trying to express their rightful anger about their neighbor being shot in front of them in a crowded street where people were trying to get home from school and from work with his five year old child sitting in the back...
All Sharpton could muster was, "Yeah." He soon turned to Chevalier's call for NYC Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch to resign. In a statement, she hammered on the "sanctuary" line: “Last night, the NYPD and Commissioner Tisch violated the spirit, if not the letter, of our sanctuary city policies and fueled the Trump Administration’s attempt to demonize our communities."
SHARPTON: Your criticism is about what happened after the shooting. The police response to protesters. What you say was assistance given to federal agents and Commissioner Tisch's decision to detail the Belgal criminal history while briefing the public. So why do you believe this rises to the level that the Police Commissioner ought to step aside?
She again blamed NYPD for not arresting the shooter.
CHEVALIER: You're not you're not doing the duty of actually investigating and apprehending a person who had just shot someone on the street.
Insanity! Again, the shooter was law enforcement, an ICE agent! And again, Sharpton said nothing. He also said nothing as Chevalier gave as one her reasons for wanting Tisch fired, the fact that she noted Belgal's criminal record at her press conference, something, as mentioned earlier, Sharpton did not do during this segment.
Chevalier ended by again mentioning Belgal's son, to which Sharpton replied, "Five year old child in the back of the car. We'll keep talking about this."
Sharpton gave a radical DSA Congressional candidate an uninterrupted platform to spew her garbage, which is also Sharpton's garbage.
