Our first entrant is an absolutely astounding classic from Max Fleischer circa 1934 embedded right.

And another from Fleischer that is supposedly the first Popeye (circa 1933):

Wow! Betty Boop's first animated appearance (1930):

Wow! This is the original "Felix the Cat" from 1919, although his name was Tom:

This is the first animated feature to use synchronized sound (1926 by Max Fleischer):

Although this isn't Mickey Mouse's first animated appearance, it gets such credit because of its popularity (1928):

The first animated color feature was released by Disney in 1932:
