Bill Maher on Friday told what many would consider a rather racist joke. After commenting at the beginning of HBO's Real Time that it was Friday the 13th, the host warned his audience, "If a black cat crosses your path it is bad luck – except in Florida where you’re allowed to shoot it" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

The sexualization of children is now promoted on “edgier” cable entertainment outlets. “Angry Boys,” an Australian “mockumentary” shown by HBO, showed a young girl drinking out of a pink plastic cup shaped like a penis in Episode 12. The incident is meant to be comedic. But showing a young girl sucking on a penis in a comedic fashion is akin to showing child pornography.

What does one need to do to be a special guest of President Obama's at the annual White House Easter Egg Roll? Play Sarah Palin in a film using biased sources to bash the former Alaska governor, that's what. Glittarazzi reported Monday:

In January, Bill Maher admitted that his HBO Real Time audience were "brainwashed liberals." On Friday's program, he took this observation a step further at the beginning of the program by calling them "a pumped up bunch of liberal drug addicts" (video follows with commentary):

Bill Maher on Friday actually used the Trayvon Martin issue to attack Republican Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R-Minn). In his HBO Real Time opening monologue, the host said of Congressman Bobby Rush (D-Ill.) wearing a hoodie on the House floor, "Too scary? Have you ever looked into Michele Bachmann's eyes?" In the wake of President Obama calling Georgetown University law student and women's rights activist Sandra Fluke to discuss Rush Limbaugh's remarks, Bristol Palin, the daughter of the former Alaska governor, posted a question to the current White House resident Sunday. "Mr. President, When Should I Expect Your Call?"

As NewsBusters has been reporting, Bill Maher spent much of his week bashing red states. After taking a cheap shot at Kansas early in Friday's Real Time on HBO, Maher took aim at Southerners saying that they should only celebrate their Confederate heritage once a year - "We'll call it 'St. Cracker's Day'" (video follows with transcript and commentary):
