Former New York Times Writer Scours Romney Binder Remarks as 'Comical
Count former New York Times writer Virginia Heffernan as one of the media feminists who wanted to hit Mitt Romney with a binder for about a week. From her digital macrame rug on Yahoo News, Heffernan wrote an entire column insisting "The remark did not accomplish what he’d hoped. In fact, it tipped the hand of Romney’s women panic so thoroughly that it’s likely his court-the-undecided-females’…

Daily Kos Week in Review: The Ones on the Left Write About the Right
What is conservatism? Who are conservatives? For serious answers, one might consult the work of Russell Kirk, Michael Oakeshott, or Jonathan Haidt. If you seek wacky, borderline-incomprehensible assessments, however, just look below for some of what Kossacks have come up with lately.
As usual, each headline is preceded by the blogger's name or pseudonym.

MSNBC's Witt Whiffs Twice In One Morning
Drifting around the dial this morning, I happened on MSNBC's Weekends With Alex Witt. Within minutes, I was stunned by two Witt whiffs, to wit:
1. Criticizing the Tea Party's lack of "diverse thinking," she asked Joe Scarborough "how much has the Tea Party damaged the Republican party?" Joe gently explained that far from damaging the GOP, the Tea Party propelled it to historic landslide…

Check Out Charlie Daniels's 'Let 'em Win or Bring 'em Home
Charlie Daniels, a man for whom I have so much respect, sent me his new video. I've embedded it below the page break.
I don't think it's even been released yet. But I told him -- I insisted -- that he show it to you. It is a very, very powerful tribute to our men and women in uniform, and to the Gold Star parents whose children gave their lives in service to our country.

More Abrasive Than Usual, MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell Challenges Tagg R
In response to an innocuous joke Tagg Romney made on a radio show in North Carolina, Lawrence O'Donnell used the platform that is his late night talk show on MSNBC to taunt and threaten the oldest son of a presidential hopeful.
Seemingly as serious as a heart attack, the nearly 57 year-old O'Donnell challenged the 42 year-old to a fist fight "any time, any where". [ video and transcript…

National Geographic Uses an AP Photo Including Bush 43 in Item About O
Electric vehicle battery maker A123 filed for bankruptcy on Tuesday. Part of the caption at an Associated Press photo found at a National Geographic report about the "hurdles for clean tech" on Wednesday stated that the company "received a $6 million grant from the Bush administration in 2007 and a $249 million grant from the Obama administration in 2008."
That's pretty funny (actually…

Dan Rather Mocks Republicans for 'Whining About the Referee' Candy Cro
Disgraced former CBS News anchorman Dan Rather showed up on MSNBC and CNN this week to stick up for women who stood and mangled the truth with Obama. On MSNBC, he defended Candy Crowley’s pro-Obama moderating and supported Hillary Clinton and Susan Rice on Benghazi-gate on CNN.
On Wednesday’s Rachel Maddow Show, Maddow typically humored Old Dan unleashing his Ratherisms (“this race has been…

Liberal radio host Bill Press wants it both ways.
He's "blown away and upset" that Gallup's daily tracking poll yesterday showed Mitt Romney ahead of President Obama by seven points. Press also wants everyone to know that the poll is meaningless. (audio clip after page break)

NYT's Nate Silver Takes on Gallup, Boosts Democratic Hopes
The New York Times' s acclaimed poll-meister Nate Silver has a reputation for statistical expertise, but he's getting some guff for dismissing Mitt Romney's recent large leads in the Gallup tracking poll.
Silver's Thursday evening post on his FiveThirtyEight blog at nytimes.com, "Gallup vs. the World" claimed that Gallup's "results are deeply inconsistent with the results that other polling…

Malkin Column: Obama Campaign Co-Chair Eva Longoria Gets Schooled
Liberal celebrities want all of the adoration that social media engagement has to offer — but none of the accountability that actual engagement requires. For the Hollywood elite, it's "do as they say, not as they tweet." But actress and outspoken Obama campaign co-chair Eva Longoria learned a hard lesson this week on Twitter:
Conservatives online are mad as hell and aren't taking it anymore.

The Big Three networks (ABC, CBS and NBC) gave the faux furor over Mitt Romney’s “binders full of women” statement in Tuesday’s debate a whopping 22 mentions through Friday morning. Yet when Vice President Joe Biden, on Thursday, told an audience member that Republican “young guns” like Vice Presidential nominee Paul Ryan had “bullets” aimed at him the networks delivered just a scant two total…

WashPost's Vozzella Cites Planned Parenthood Doc to Criticize Va. Abor
As we've noted here at NewsBusters, the Washington Post's Laura Vozzella has done her level best to attack Virginia's new strict abortion clinic regulations. Today was no exception as the Post staffer jumped on the chance to cast a Democrat-appointed health official's resignation in protest of the new regs as a move that has "provoked an outcry among the medical community." However the doctor…

At the end of Thursday's NBC Rock Center, host Brian Williams touted an "unexpected moment" with the widow of Robert F. Kennedy when he asked "what she remembered about Fidel Castro, who, it turns out, she's met several times." Kennedy fondly remembered: "He was very warm, very emotional. He clearly would have liked to have been friends with President Kennedy and with Bobby."
Williams…
