Chuck Todd Tees Up New Republic Editor to Push ‘Identity Politics’

In a fawning softball interview with New Republic editor Jamil Smith on NBC’s web-based Meet the Press feature Press Pass, moderator Chuck Todd urged the liberal journalist to justify racially divisive reporting: “So let me start with this idea of why we should, in the media, report on identity politics essentially. Why does it matter?”

Lois Lerner, AKA ‘Toby Miles,’ in Trouble Again, Networks Censor

First it was a destroyed hard drive, then it was a busted BlackBerry and now we find out Lois Lerner used another personal e-mail account to conduct government business that utilized the alias “Toby Miles.” This IRS targeting scandal has more twists than an old episode of Law and Order, but it’s still not enticing the Big Three networks (ABC, CBS, NBC) to go back to covering it.

Scarborough Rips De Blasio’s ‘Misguided Liberalism’ Running New York

On Tuesday’s Morning Joe, host Joe Scarborough hammered liberal New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio for “allowing a homeless epidemic to start spreading across New York again.” The MSNBC host argued that the de Blasio policy of allowing homeless to sleep on the streets was ridiculous just because “some left-winger thinks that this is more humane. No, let them just sleep on grates. No, let them…

If you're Hillary Clinton or one of her supporters, this should make your blood run cold.  On today's Morning Joe, Joe Scarborough said that the unequivocally pro-Biden statement from Obama spox Josh Earnest yesterday not only sent "a strong, strong message to Hillary" but, echoing the Wall Street Journal, "you wonder whether they're sending a message to the Justice Department as well." Has…

Blogger: Right Doesn’t Care About ‘Evidence or Empirical Results’

Conservatives tend to be religious, but is conservatism itself akin to a religion? Yes, opined Washington Monthly blogger David Atkins in a Sunday post. “Many consider modern conservatism to be an almost cultic movement,” Atkins wrote. “Its adherents long since stopped caring about the evidence or empirical results. It’s all about who can prove truest to the faith, and maximally annoy and rebel…

Miami Herald Columnist: Saying 'All Lives Matter' Is 'Moral Cowardice'

Columnist Leonard Pitts may not have caught wind of Thursday's Rasmussen poll before he wrote the column published Saturday at the Miami Herald. Perhaps he still doesn't realize that Rasmussen reported that 64 percent of blacks and 78 percent of likely U.S. voters overall say that "All lives matter" is closer to their own views than "Black lives matter." In his column, Pitts accused what turns…

Congressional Republican opposition to the Iran deal simply boils down to kowtowing to opposing by the Israelis, MSNBC's Chris Matthews suggested during a roundtable discussion exchange with Republican strategist John Feehery on the Monday edition of Hardball. "Why don't we just turn it over to the Knesset then?" Matthews sneered, in reply to Feehery citing Israel's concerns about Iranian-…
