Bill Kristol Slaps Down ABC’s Matthew Dowd: 2014 ‘Will Be A Refere
ABC News Political Analyst and former Bush/Cheney advisor Matthew Dowd attempted to downplay the impact ObamaCare will have in the 2013-midterm elections. Appearing on This Week w/ George Stephanopoulos on March 30, Dowd asserted, “2014 is going to be about the direction of the country, the economy, and how people feel in their lives. It's not going to be about ObamaCare.”
Despite the bizarre…

NYT Frets as GOP States Burden Blacks Based on 'Unfounded' Vote Fraud
Sunday's New York Times was troubled by attempts by Republican state leaders to impose uniformity in voting rules and predictably made it a racial matter in "New G.O.P. Bid to Limit Voting in Swing States."
According to the front-page story, after a Supreme Court ruling last year loosened restrictions, "swing states under Republican control are embracing significant new electoral restrictions…

AP Ignores Why Vegas Culinary Workers Have Authorized Strike: Obamacar
The headline and first paragraph at an Associated Press item on a union strike authorization vote in Las Vegas are both far more vague than they could or should be.
Though the rest of Ken Ritter's coverage at least identifies the union involved, it completely fails to get to the heart of the matter, which is that Obamacare is causing huge increases in their employers' cost of providing health…

“The Secret Service is currently seeking bids for a new presidential limousine,” FNC’s Bret Baier explained at the end of his Tuesday show, setting up a clip from CBS’s Late Show with David Letterman, which “got a sneak peek at some of the required features for the next so-called ‘beast.’”
The last feature shown is one we all can appreciate.

Maher Credits Jimmy Carter With Inventing Phrase 'Human Rights
Liberals decided long ago to deem Jimmy Carter the most successful ex-president ever. Bill Maher on his HBO show last night gave Carter credit for something that happened during his presidency, though Maher stretched it considerably.
Carter has been making the rounds to plug his new book, "A Call to Action: Women, Religion, Violence, and Power." His appearance on Maher's show did keep…

CNN.com Hasn't Covered Leland Yee Arrest, Gets Snippy When Challenged
Although its report has its shortcomings, particularly the fact that it didn't identify him as a Democrat for 24 paragraphs (as noted this morning), the Associated Press has at least treated California State Senator Leland Yee's arrest on corruption and gun trafficking charges as a national story, with two bylined reporters and seven others assisting.
The same cannot be said of CNN.com. Web…

Bob Kerrey Calls Obama a Delusional Liar; Media Mum
Imagine if a former Republican presidential candidate and U.S. senator had called a current Republican president a delusional liar whose programs are wasteful. Would the mainstream media not be all over the story? Such a person would be interviewed at length by Wolf Blitzer on CNN as well as made the rounds of the morning talk shows and the Sunday news programs as well. The media buzz would be…

Union Shill Ed Schultz: Unionized College Athletes Won't Strike
One of the most frequent laments from liberals is that the decline of unions has hurt American workers and our economy. And among the reasons that unions are in decline are dubious claims by liberals about them.
It's even worse when the person making the claim fancies himself an outspoken advocate for workers' rights and one who, not incidentally, is being abundantly compensated for his…

A Tribute to My Friend, Noel Sheppard
The old saying that only the good die young is certainly apt to describe the passing of my dear friend and colleague Noel Sheppard at the age of 53.
I’ve known Noel since early 2005 when my brother Greg and I saw him contributing freelance pieces to the American Thinker. At the time, blogging was still relatively new and the political and media establishments (of both left and right) were…

CBS's Pelley Glowingly Wonders How the Pope 'Inspired' Obama; Omits Re
Friday's CBS Evening News featured a previously unaired portion of Scott Pelley's softball interview of President Obama on his recent meeting with Pope Francis. The Vatican noted on Thursday that "there was a discussion on questions of particular relevance for the Church...such as the exercise of the rights to religious freedom, life and conscientious objection" – a reference to the Catholic…

Remembering Noel Sheppard In TV Appearances
For those who haven't seen Noel Sheppard outside his natural habitat on the Internet, we have pulled up some videos so you can see his zest in action.
This is exactly as I remember him from our many phone conversations, always a little amazed (and yet entertained) by the media circus.

CNBC's Kudlow Signs Off With Stirring Tribute to Freedom and Faith
It was quite a contrast: Just a couple of hours before CNN's Piers Morgan signed off with a slashing attack on gun rights and the NRA, longtime CNBC host Larry Kudlow ended his final broadcast with a stirring tribute to the power of freedom and faith. "It is freedom that makes this the greatest country in the world," Kudlow told his viewers before recounting how faith in God helped him overcome…

Our Noel Sheppard Passed Away
Our Noel Sheppard passed away yesterday (Friday) morning at about 5:00 AM. Say a prayer for the soul of a man we'll all miss professionally, and many, many of us will miss personally as well. Noel was not just a force of nature, he was a very good man.
How quickly this all happened. Just two months ago, Noel wrote about suddenly getting cancer at 53 called "Cancer's Ray of Hope." Nine days…
