Biden’s Kill Switch: Growing Threat of Government Control of Your Car

April 18th, 2024 10:38 AM

Soon the government might shut down your car. President Joe Biden’s new infrastructure gives bureaucrats that power. You probably didn’t hear about that because when media covered it, few mentioned the requirement that by 2026, every American car must “monitor” the driver, determine if he is impaired and, if so, “limit vehicle operation.” Rep. Thomas Massie objected, complaining that the law…

6 Myths About Globalization, Trade, Jobs, and ‘Buy American’

April 8th, 2024 10:13 AM

Leaders of both parties agree: We must reduce globalization. “China is ripping us on trade,” says Donald Trump. Our trade deficit is “an immorality,” says Nancy Pelosi. But it’s not. In my new video, Scott Lincicome of the Cato Institute points out, “Selling us stuff is hardly ripping us off.” He’s right. Our video debunks common misunderstandings about trade.

Trespassers Welcome: How the Law Protects Squatters

April 1st, 2024 10:13 AM

What if you come home and find strangers living in your house? I assumed you order the squatters out, and if they resist, call the police, and they will kick them out. Wrong. Pro-tenant laws passed by anti-capitalist politicians now protect squatters. If a squatter just lies about having a lease, the police won’t intervene.

Stossel: Don’t Let Those Who Locked Us Down Off the Hook!

March 21st, 2024 2:35 PM

Four years ago, government officials told us, “Stay home!” We have “15 days to slow the spread.” Days turned into months and then years, while officials chipped away at our freedoms. I have long been wary of politicians, but even I was surprised at how authoritarian many were eager to be. Some demanded police to go after people surfing. They took down the rims of basketball hoops. Children’s…

Degrowth: How to Make the World Poorer, Polluted and Miserable

March 15th, 2024 2:07 PM

The left has a new goal: degrowth. We should “buy less stuff,” forgive debts, grow our own food, etc. They say this will “build a more just and sustainable society” and “save the planet” from “climate chaos.” This idea is popular with capitalism-haters. One at a ChangeNow “eco conference” says, “A smaller, slower economy could also be a sweeter economy.”

Juice: Why Wind and Solar Make Our Power Grid Less Reliable

March 12th, 2024 2:17 PM

“We’re building a clean energy future,” says President Joe Biden. Who is “we”? Well, you pay for it. He and his “green” cronies do most of the building. Lately, they’re pouring more of your money into “renewable energy.” They promise to give us “carbon-free power” from the sun and wind. My new video illustrates some problems with that, using scenes from a new documentary series called “Juice:…

My Phone: A Privacy Expert Doesn’t Like What She Finds

February 22nd, 2024 5:27 PM

The government and private companies spy on us. My former employee, Naomi Brockwell, has become a privacy specialist. She advises people on how to protect their privacy. In my new video, she tells me I should delete most of my apps on my phone. I push back. I like that Google knows where I am and can recommend a “restaurant near me. I like that my Shell app lets me buy gas (almost) without…

Media Bias: Subtle (and Not So Subtle) Ways Journalists Slant the News

February 19th, 2024 9:43 AM

On CNN, a “reporter” interviewing Vice President Kamala Harris gushes, “I’m struck, just in your presence! Looking you in the eye, with your passion ... ” Really? Even Harris looked embarrassed. My new video shows how the mainstream media treat conservatives and libertarians differently. We shouldn’t be surprised. Reporters overwhelmingly lean Democrat. A survey by The American Journalist…

Jobs vs. Machines: The Rise of Artificial Intelligence

February 11th, 2024 6:13 PM

The media warn, “Artificial intelligence will replace millions of jobs.” In San Francisco, Teamsters protest, demanding the government “protect” their jobs. In my new video, they chant, “Do not have these self-driving vehicles on San Francisco streets, taking jobs!” They’re complaining about the Waymo driverless taxis already in use in part of San Francisco (and Phoenix).

Controversial Ideas: Charles Murray Challenges Mainstream Narrative

January 24th, 2024 6:15 PM

The New York Times put Charles Murray on the cover of its Sunday Magazine, calling him “The Most Dangerous Conservative.” That was after he co-wrote the book, “The Bell Curve,” which argued that different ethnic groups have, on average, different IQs. As Murray puts it in my video this week, “Blacks on average have a lower IQ than whites. However, whites are not at the top. East…

Afraid to Speak: Sharing My Story With Fellow Stutterer, Emily Blunt

January 17th, 2024 3:12 PM

Before anyone was “canceled” for saying a “wrong” thing, actress Emily Blunt and I feared speaking. “It was terrifying ... you’re just gripped with terror,” says Blunt in my new video. I also used to wake up scared, fearing I might have to do a few seconds of live TV. We feared speaking because we are both stutterers.

Flooded in Debt: Rand Paul’s Fight to Fix Federal Flood Insurance

January 10th, 2024 1:37 PM

Sen. John Kennedy is upset because Sen. Rand Paul wants to limit federal flood insurance. But Paul is right. In my new video, Paul says, “(It) shouldn’t be for rich people.” That should be obvious. Actually, federal flood insurance shouldn’t be for anyone. Government has no business offering it. That’s a job for ... the insurance business.

Simple Question: Are You a Maker or a Taker?

January 4th, 2024 5:10 PM

Politicians are often takers. They take our money (and freedom) in the name of achieving goals they rarely achieve. Elon Musk and Sen. Elizabeth Warren may be the best examples of maker and taker. They’re the stars of my video this week. Warren shouts, “Tax the rich!” She especially wants to tax Musk, the richest man in the world.

The AI Future Is Now! Artificial Intelligence-Driven Cars Are Here

December 26th, 2023 6:07 PM

The driverless car is here! Finally. Google has harnessed artificial intelligence to create a self-driving car they call Waymo, standing for “Way Forward in Mobility.” Regulators in San Francisco and Phoenix legalized Waymo cars because the robo-cars drive better than people do. They’ve already driven millions of miles on public roads without any fatalities. Not one. No injuries either.
