New York Times media reporter Michael Grynbaum's story dealt mostly with media griping about restrictions on the impending impeachment trial coverage. But the lead paragraph rehashed last week’s spat between Sen. Martha McSally, Arizona Republican, and CNN reporter Manu Raju. The print story oddly included two photos of McSally: a CNN screengrab of her “lashing out...,” and one from Fox News. But attacks on journalists are treated differently when it’s heroic liberal congresswoman Nancy Pelosi making them, especially against a right-leaning reporter.
Queen Nancy the First? On her Saturday morning MSNBC show, Joy Reid set out on a loud-and-proud feminist jag as she sought to pump up Nancy Pelosi. But the effort backfired. She claimed that impeachment was designed to prevent President Trump from becoming a "king." But she wound up painting an unflattering portrait of Pelosi as a disdainful member of royalty who misuses her power to abuse her lessers.
Just two months after showering House Speaker Nancy Pelosi with praise for rebuking the “child President” Trump, MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell devoted another opening monologue to praising the Speaker; this time for her exchange with James Rosen. The Last Word host devoted the first ten minutes of his show Thursday to reporting on how Pelosi “crushed” Rosen after he dared to suggest that she might “hate the President.”
While CNN host Jake Tapper has defended journalists on numerous occasions over the course of his career, he chose not to during Thursday night’s CNN town hall with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, allowing her to jab Sinclair Broadcast Group as not a real news organization and James Rosen as not a real journalist. In other words, it was more of the route he took toward Dana Loesch and Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) during the Parkland show trial.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is receiving rave reviews from the media for angrily lecturing a reporter during a press conference Thursday. That’s right, the same media who hysterically cries the United States is turning into North Korea because President Trump sometimes calls hostile reporters “enemy of the people,” is now lauding a Democrat politician for lashing out at a conservative reporter over his pointed question.
CNN -- the network that portrays itself as the bulwark for freedom of the press -- explicitly took the side of a politician railing against a journalist. Because the politician was liberal, and the journalist works for a conservative-owned set of TV stations. The words "Jim Acosta" never crossed their lips.
Instead of memory-holing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s lashing out at Sinclair’s James Rosen on Thursday morning, the liberal media decided to play it up as a testament to Pelosi’s “stunning” leadership and MSNBC’s Hardball did just that, boasting that she was “fierce” in what “may have been her finest hour.”
As Speaker Nancy Pelosi was exiting a Thursday press conference after announcing she had directed her chairmen to draw up articles of impeachment, Sinclair reporter James Rosen questioned her on whether or not she felt “hate” towards President Trump. Her anger flared as she lashed out in response (something they would have condemned President Trump for). It was that irate response that drew the attention of CBS Evening News and NBC Nightly News as they both hyped it as something awesome.
Joe Concha at The Hill reported House Speaker Nancy Pelosi brought her egotistical swagger to a press conference on Thursday, dissing reporter James Rosen of Sinclair as "Mr. Republican Talking Points" and then bragging about how she has more experience on intelligence matters than anyone else in Congress.
The Boston Globe is lobbying for a mass denunciation of Donald Trump as a response to his complaints about the media. According to The Hill, over 100 newspapers all over the country will “publish editorials fighting back against President Trump’s repeated attacks on the media.” In a pitch to fellow newspapers, the Globe demanded, “We propose to publish an editorial on August 16 on the dangers of the administration's assault on the press and ask others to commit to publishing their own editorials on the same date.”
In an essay for Politico on Thursday, former interim Democratic National Committee Chair Donna Brazile dropped a bombshell on the DNC and the Hillary Clinton campaign. In the piece, Brazile exposed how “the DNC was rigging the system to throw the primary to Hillary” through an ethically questionable financial arrangement. Even though it seemed like a plot in House of Cards, the Big Three networks had a complete blackout of any mention of the news during their evening broadcasts.
During Tuesday’s Special Report, Fox News Channel confirmed that the Pentagon had suspended their program that allowed certain immigrants hastened U.S. citizenship, the Military Accessions Vital to the National Interest (MAVNI). “Lawmakers tell us the program has been, quote, "compromised." With reports that some enrollees are unaccounted for tonight and fears of foreign infiltration spreading across Capitol Hill,” announced Anchor Bret Baier at the top of the show.
