On Wednesday's Full Frontal on TBS, liberal comedienne Samantha Bee spent much of her show advocating for maximum exploitation of the pandemic to advance liberal causes on issues like welfare and abortion. Leftists like former Labor Secretary Robert Reich and historian Doris Kearns Goodwin contributed their voices to talking up liberal economic policies. The show even threw in the latest tired smear of President Trump as a fascist.
Economist and member of the Save Our Country Task Force Stephen Moore came out swinging against neglecting the economy further amidst the ongoing pandemic. After noting that over 200,000 people worldwide, and over 70,000 Americans, have died from the coronavirus, Moore began his exclusive video for MRCTV by asking a question.
Liberal billionaire Warren Buffett, who’s been fairly quiet this election cycle, took to CNBC to weigh in on the Democratic primary races. As it turns out, even The Billion-Dollar King of Abortion found self-proclaimed socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) too left-wing.
Remember the CNN motto "Facts First"? On Tuesday's The Lead with Jake Tapper, during a panel discussion of Bernie Sanders vs. Michael Bloomberg, no one corrected far-left guest Mehdi Hasan of al-Jazeera America when he bolstered Sanders by wrongly claiming Bloomberg was a Republican "for many, many years until 2018."
On Thursday afternoon, MSNBC host Katy Tur devoted a segment of her show to a discussion of passing a federal law to mandate that employees be given paid parental leave in which only left-leaning guests participated in the discussion. Opponents who might argue that some employers would have difficulty doing without employees for several months were not included in the discussion as Tur hinted she only invited members of Congress who were trying to pass a federal law on the matter.
On Wednesday morning, MSNBC again displayed why the stridently liberal news network has a reputation for taking in conservatives as contributors and then inspiring them to deliver commentary that sounds like it comes from the left. Right-leaning contributor George Will actually hit Republicans from the left on the issue of immigration as he and host Stephanie Ruhle conflated legal and illegal immigration without, of course, ever using the words "illegal" or even "undocumented."
Already a biased journalist on the environment based on his December 30 Meet the Press stunt, MTP Daily host Chuck Todd brought on socialist Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) for Thursday’s show to discuss how she views the 2020 field, the Green New Deal, and socialism. Not surprisingly, he operated on her turf and didn’t pressure her on any of the outlandish, Soviet-style proposals outlined hours earlier in the Green New Deal.
When you receive your paycheck and look at the withholding for federal, state and sometimes city taxes, along with Social Security and Medicare, you probably don't think you're underpaying governments and want them to take more. New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio believes that if you have played by what used to be called “the rules” and are making a decent living, taking care of yourself and your family and not relying on government, your taxes should be increased.
On Friday's Real Time show on HBO, liberal host Bill Maher and actor Jim Carrey celebrated recent Democratic candidates running on far-left platforms and identifying themselves as "socialists," leading Carrey to proclaim: "We have to say yes to socialism -- to the word and everything. We have to stop apologizing."
Several recent polls, plus the popularity of Sen. Bernie Sanders, demonstrate that young people prefer socialism to free market capitalism. That, I believe, is a result of their ignorance and indoctrination during their school years, from kindergarten through college. For the most part, neither they nor many of their teachers and professors know what free market capitalism is.
Before the massive growth of our welfare state, private charity was the sole option for an individual or family facing insurmountable financial difficulties or other challenges. How do we know that? There is no history of Americans dying on the streets because they could not find food or basic medical assistance.
Celebrity promotion of liberal views are predictable as death and taxes. But these days the media also take these opinions seriously, trying to turn absurdities into news. The latest example was the media frenzy over a Tweet from Sen. Bernie Sanders promoting 25 year old rapper Cardi B’s economic opinions. The rapper was already a fan of Sanders, having encouraged people to “Vote for Daddy Bernie” during the last Democratic primary.
