Vote of No Confidence: Public Says Media Are Liberal, Biased and Inacc
August 10th, 2007 10:13 AM
Many Americans do not believe the news media are fair, accurate or even moral, according to a new survey by the Pew Research Center. The poll of 1500 Americans conducted late last month found that most of the public thinks news organizations are politically biased (55%) and often publish inaccurate stories (53%), and that roughly a third of the audience say the media are too critical of America (…
LAT: 'Suggestions by U.S. Politicians' That Pakistan Be Attacked Has N
August 10th, 2007 3:50 AM
The L.A. Times has morphed Democrat presidential candidate Barack Obama's over-the-top campaign rhetoric that he would attack Pakistan into "suggestions by U.S. politicians that American forces unilaterally strike" that country. But, no where did the story mention Obama, nor that no Administration officials are advocating such a move. How is it that Obama's absurd gaffe has suddenly become a U.S…
'Please Don't Read This' Headline Leads Incomplete AP Beauchamp Story
August 9th, 2007 2:49 PM
One needs to look no further than the Associated Press's story on the Scott Beauchamp saga to understand why the general public not following the news closely doesn't "get" just how biased and antagonistic towards the war, the military, and American soldiers Old Media outlets are. In the case of Scott Beauchamp, now that their brethren at The New Republic (TNR) have been caught red-handed…
Obama Calls Canadian Prime Minister a 'President' - Where is Media Rid
August 9th, 2007 5:43 AM
At the Democrat Party presidential debates last Tuesday, Barack Obama revealed that he didn't know that our Canadian neighbors to the north had a prime minister instead of a president leading them. Yet the MSM has practically ignored this obvious gaffe, with few of them making much of the incident. This is a far cry from how Bush was so virulently attacked for having no foreign policy "gravitas"…
Brzezinski Reverses on Villaraigosa Story: 'That Story's Important
August 7th, 2007 12:42 PM
Yesterday I wrote a piece about reporter Mika Brzezinski's handling of a story that reflected a political double standard on her part. While hosting MSNBC's "Morning Joe" for the vacationing Joe Scarborough, Brzezinski aired a video of a female reporter chasing after Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. Before she could catch up with the mayor however, the reporter was intercepted by a very…
Jesse Jackson's Anti-Gun Claims Unchallenged by the AP
August 7th, 2007 10:15 AM
Once again the Associated Press give us more of its prosaic brand of "unfair and unbalanced" news with a Jesse Jackson anti-gun story that doesn't offer a single word to counter his propaganda, their report doesn't present even a hint that there is any "side" but the anti-gun position. We aren't shocked at this, of course, but it needs to be pointed out for the record nonetheless.
Jackson faces…
Brzezinski: Democrat's Affair 'Not Pressing,' No Objection to Vitter C
August 6th, 2007 3:57 PM
Liberals can rest easier knowing that despite her outspoken views on newsworthiness and ethics, MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski can still be counted on to go to bat for the Democrats. The reporter and "Morning Joe" regular showed off her famous sense of journalistic integrity while filling in for host Joe Scarborough on Monday morning. In the first half hour, Brzezinski played a video of a journalist…
Slate Trawls Facebook to Find Anti-Giuliani Scoop From Ex-Mayor's Daug
August 6th, 2007 2:56 PM
Slate magazine found out that Rudy Giuliani's daughter Caroline has a crush on Obama.Well, maybe not a crush, but she had joined a pro-Obama Facebook group and describes herself as "liberal" (but then that's also how many Republican voters would describe Caroline's father). The article, complete with evidentiary screen grab, was written this morning by Lucy Morrow Caldwell, like Caroline Giuliani…
Palm Beach Post: Using Global Warming Activist's Press Release as News
August 6th, 2007 2:39 AM
The Palm Beach Post was caught in a bit of deception by one of its readers over the weekend. At issue was another globaloney alarmist story the paper printed on July 25th, titled "This century hotter than last, group finds," supposedly by Post writer Dara Kam. Unfortunately for the reputation of Dara Kam and that of the paper, this "article" was merely a rewording of the press release of an…
