CNN host Jake Tapper claimed "Every reporter that I know wants the United States to succeed in every way." But two London CNN bigwigs were photographed schmoozing with the Iranians at their embassy in London, and it didn't look like they were there to ask tough questions at the anniversary party for Iran's Islamo-fascist revolution.
NewsBusters associate editor Nick Fondacaro and senior research analyst Bill D'Agostino joined the show. Nick drew our attention to a photo from the British paper The Telegraph. It showed CNN's London Bureau Chief and a London-based Mideast reporter talking to the Iranian ambassador at a party celebrating the Islamist revolution. No cameras or microphones or press badges. It looked like just schmoozing. CNN then claimed they were just doing journalism.
Nick found it super-fishy, considering the Iranians have allowed CNN into the country, unlike most Western media outlets. Imagine an outlet like The New York Times schmoozing at a Nazi anniversary party in 1942. It's not a good look. It looks like consorting with the enemy. Naturally, CNN sees itself as a global news operation, not an American one.
Most national reporters that we observe are not rooting for America to win. They want Trump to fail in every way, and their reporting on this war has been overwhelmingly negative, as it is on everything else about Trump. But they love to pretend that being hyper-negative is being factual. Much of their reportage is projecting that it will inevitably become a failure if it isn't one yet.
Democrats aren’t shy about saying they trust the Islamic tyrants in Tehran more than Team Trump. Former Obama aide and MS NOW contributor Ben Rhodes trashed Trump’s negotiator Steve Witkoff, who was “selling real estate like a year and a half ago,” while Iranian spokesman Abbas Araghchi “was a part of a government that could be tough negotiators. They could have shifting positions, but they actually kept their commitments…So this is a guy who knows what he's talking about.”
Also: National "Public" Radio can NOT find the story of New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani's wife Rama Duwaji putting "Likes" on pages celebrating the October 7 massacre in Israel. But it CAN find stories where Mamdani is the victim of cruel Republican social media posts. GOP 'Islamophobia' is hot news, and Muslim Democrat antisemitism is not.
