Burying the Truth: Apple and Google News Protect Graham Platner From Media Accountability

Apple and Google News are up to their media manipulation again. This time, the apps are burying their heads in the sand regarding Graham Platner’s biggest scandals. David Bozell, President of the Media Research Center, joined The Lars Larson Show on Monday to discuss the latest MRC Free Speech America study exposing Apple and Google News' omission bias. From November through May, the headlines featured on both apps completely scrubbed Platner’s escalating scandals, including his Nazi tattoo and controversial Reddit posts.

Bozell explained the meticulous process of MRC’s findings:

“We looked at every single story, every single morning on Google News and Apple News, between the months of November and May, and there wasn’t a single negative story on Graham Platner on any single day.”

He added that these platforms seem to have no problem amplifying negative headlines about ICE Agents,  just as they had no issue dismissing the Hunter Biden laptop story.

Google News dismissed the study as flawed when asked by Fox News about MRC's report. Bozell refuted this defense, noting:

“We gave them 112 different options, and they did not point to one of those stories or any other stories that was negative about Graham Platner that they showcased on their platform.”

Notice how Google News fails to mention specific flaws in the procedure or provide examples where the app was “wrongfully accused.” Instead of taking accountability for its actions, Google opted to shoot the messenger.

Apple and Google News aren't fooling anyone by excusing their behavior and shifting the blame to “poor methodology” or “user error.” This was a well-informed editorial decision to protect Graham Platner.
