Coulter: 'You Know Romney’s Statement Was Devastating to Obama Because the Media Is Screaming Bloody Murder'

Conservative author Ann Coulter on Wednesday called the media out for its attacks on Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney's criticism of Barack Obama's response to Tuesday's anti-American hostilities in Egypt and Libya.

Appearing on Fox News's Hannity, Coulter said, "You know that Romney’s statement was devastating to President Obama because the media is screaming bloody murder" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

SEAN HANNITY, HOST: Here's the irony of all of this. The liberal media - and we’lll show this later in the program tonight - what is their answer to this? To attack Governor Romney for doing what our president should have done and to say, “This is unacceptable – we’re not going to allow it.” And we’ve got a tape tonight where they actually coordinated their little questions together so that, “You ask, you follow-up, you ask, you follow-up.”

ANN COULTER: Right. No, it’s, it's stunning. You know that Romney’s statement was devastating to President Obama because the media is screaming bloody murder. If he hadn't struck gold with that, they wouldn't all be doing this. But that's their response to everything Romney says. “Oh, can you believe he said that?” Yeah, actually, I can. I can’t believe what Obama said.

Indeed. The media reaction to this entire episode has been deplorable.

If the party affiliations were reversed, and Obama were the Republican with Romney the Democrat, the press would be completely on Romney's side in this matter excoriating Obama.

Can anyone honestly refute that?
