The View Demands Dems Accept Kamala as VP, Can't List Accomplishments

March 13th, 2023 1:48 PM

The cackling coven of ABC’s The View was so scared of their chances in 2024 that they spent part of their Monday episode trashing their fellow Democrats who were concerned about Kamala Harris remaining vice president. Of course, they tried to browbeat the opposition by calling them racist. But when pressed to list Harris’s accomplishments as VP, former Vice President Mike Pence became the target of their shrieking.

Earning her money as one of the show’s faux Republicans, co-host Ana Navarro led off the bashing of Harris’s naysayers. “I don't know what the hell is wrong with Democrats,” she decried.

“Joe Biden is going to be your nominee; stop talking about how old he is. And Kamala Harris is going to be your vice president. So, stop fretting. Stop wringing your hands. And get behind your ticket,” she demanded of the left.

Navarro praised Harris’s team for playing hardball (some might call it throwing a temper tantrum) with Democratic lawmakers who aren’t giving her a full-throated endorsement:

And you – I love this. I love that they – they said in this story – I don't know if it's true – that Kamala’s not – that madam vice president is not responding to the calls from Senator Warren. Good! If they're going to be doing this, don't show up to fundraise for them, don't show up to campaign for them, don’t pick up their phone calls. Get with the program.

“They’re playing into the hands of Fox News. Fox News every single day goes after Kamala Harris, trying to portray her as inept and some kind of bumbling fool. She's not! That’s not who she is!” Navarro yelled, without evidence.

Of course, she suggested sexism and racism were involved: “They’ve got to stop playing into the hands of these people who cannot stand that she is the first woman, the first woman of color vice president and don't want her to succeed!”

Racist co-host Sunny Hostin agreed that sexism and racism were the only drivers of Harris’s low popularity. “I think it has a lot to do with she's a black woman. Black women get everything done. We’re saved this country’s democracy for centuries!” she proclaimed.

Faux conservative Alyssa Farah Griffin asked Hostin to list off Harris’s achievements as VP, but the race-baiter floundered and eventually deflected to Pence, demanding that Farah Griffin answer for her old boss (Click "expand"):

FARAH GRIFFIN: She's obviously amazing, but what specifically?

HOSTIN: But – well –

FARAH GRIFFIN: Like, I mean –

HOSTIN: Where shall I start? I mean, she was in the Senate, of course. She was the attorney general.

FARAH GRIFFIN: No, I mean as vice president. Of course, she’s highly -

HOSTIN: She's vice president. The Inflation Reduction Act. I mean – She's was the face of Roe V. Wade. I mean, the list goes on and on. I’d like to ask you, what did Pence do? What did pence do, except put his lips firmly on the butt of Donald Trump?

“I mean, when Pence finds the cajones to do something, then I think we can talk about a vice presidential – um –” Hostin shouted before trailing off.

So, according to Hostin, Harris’s accomplishments include: Biden selecting her to be VP, Biden’s so-called "Inflation Reduction Act," and somehow being “the face of Roe V. Wade,” whatever that means.

While Farah Griffin did seem critical of Harris, do note that she was making statements such as “she's obviously amazing” (if it's obvious, then why ask for examples?). At one point, Farah Griffin blamed Biden’s team for not elevating Harris enough.

“I'm a little struck by the lack of accomplishments in the policy portfolio she’s been given … And I feel like the Biden West Wing isn't necessarily setting her up for success by giving her things that can go out and champion,” she huffed.

The View’s demand that Democrats all get in line was made possible because of lucrative sponsorships from Ancestry and Abbott. Their contact information is linked.

ANA NAVARRO: I don't know what the hell is wrong with Democrats. Listen. Here's the bottom line, guys: Joe Biden is going to be your nominee; stop talking about how old he is. And Kamala Harris is going to be your vice president. So, stop fretting. Stop wringing your hands. And get behind your ticket. Because on the other side the alternative is Donald Trump or Ron DeSantis. So, you tell me what you prefer.

Listen. You know what they're doing? They’re playing into the hands of Fox News. Fox News every single day goes after Kamala Harris, trying to portray her as inept and some kind of bumbling fool. She's not! That’s not who she is!

And so, Democrats got to come out and reinforce Kamala. They’ve got to stop playing into the hands of these people who cannot stand that she is the first woman, the first woman of color vice president and don't want her to succeed! And by the way, her husband is great too.!

ALYSSA FARAH GRIFFIN: I have to say though, I'm a little surprised – When she was announced as the VP I was like “it's all over.” She's so accomplished, highly qualified.

I'm a little struck by the lack of accomplishments in the policy portfolio she’s been given. The border is a big one. It's not a win. No one is going to win. We haven't done major border security or immigration reform since the Bush administration. But she is tasked with overseeing it and the border crisis keeps getting worse.

And I feel like the Biden West Wing isn't necessarily setting her up for success by giving her things that can go out and champion. At a time when voters – I get the age – age is not the most important thing. But you are -- If you're electing someone who’s an 82-year-old in 2024, you need to believe that the vice president is able and willing the next day to be the president. And I think there's some concern about just the lack of a policy accomplishment that she's made as vice president.

SUNNY HOSTIN: I'm surprised that there's concern. I think it has a lot to do with she's a black woman. Black women get everything done. We’re saved this country’s democracy for centuries.

Of course, she’s highly.

HOSTIN: She's vice president. The Inflation Reduction Act. I mean – She's was the face of Roe V. Wade. I mean, the list goes on and on. I’d like to ask you, what did Pence do? What did pence do, except put his lips firmly on the butt of Donald Trump? And still is fighting a subpoena to testify against Trump. I mean, when Pence finds the cajones to do something, then I think we can talk about a vice presidential – um – [trails off]
