Nikki Haley BLASTS Racist 'Sunny Hostin,' Calls Out ABC's Inaction Against The View

Following the racist attacks from The View co-host “Sunny Hostin” (a fake name) against former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley for her name and skin tone, Haley appeared on Fox News Channel’s The Faulkner Focus on Wednesday and blasted Hostin and liberal Democrats as “racist” for repeatedly attacking minority Republicans that way. She also called out ABC News for their refusal to take action against Hostin when they would have fired a Republican.

After playing a montage of Hostin’s racist accusations suggesting Haley had changed her name to appear white, host Harris Faulkner was in disbelief. “Wow, she really is that racially ignorant. And your response,” she asked.

Haley took the attack in stride saying this was “not the first time and it won't be the last time that the hosts of The View come after me or that liberals come after me in whatever way.” She boiled down their deep-seated hatred to the fact that “they can't stand the fact that a minority female would be a conservative Republican.”

Earlier this year, Hostin attacked blank and Latino Republicans as “oxymoron[s]” she doesn’t “understand.” And when she said Justice Clarence Thomas wasn’t really black.

“So, you look at what Sunny Hostin does and the idea that no, Sunny is not her name. Nikki is my name. It is on my birth certificate,” Haley addressed Hostin’s smears directly. “It is an Indian name and I embrace my Indian heritage. I have written two books that described the struggles that my family had, what it was like growing up.”

Hostin’s real name is “Asunción Cummings Hostin” and she claims she goes by “Sunny” because Americans are too stupid to pronounce it correctly.

Appearing on Fox during the same hour as The View aired, Haley predicted that the show wouldn’t offer an apology because liberals were allowed to say racist stuff if their target was a conservative Republican:

But the idea that they can do this. You’re not going to see her fired from that show. We won't see an apology from that show. Because they let liberals say that about conservative Republican minorities all the time. But yet nothing is done. Had this been said about a Democrat, all hell would have broken loose.

And she was right. At no point during the show did Hostin or the network offer an apology or even mention the incident.

Haley also recalled how liberal Democrats have long refused to acknowledge her Indian heritage and just called her white:

When I ran and won governor a reporter went to a high-ranking African-American Democrat female and said how do you feel that South Carolina now has their first minority governor? And she said Nikki Haley is not a minority. She’s just a conservative with a tan.

Wanting to keep the racism of leftist extremists an issue in the midterms, Haley suggested: “Let's let independents, conservative Democrats realize that no, it is not Republicans that are racist or sexist. It’s liberal Democrats that have done this for a long time and I hope it goes to the heart of what happens in the House, Senate and governors races come November.”

Showing her resolve, Haley concluded by pointing out the fact that “when they go after something like your name or looks they don't have anything else. That shows you’re winning. And I will take that win all day long.”

HARRIS FAULKNER: For the very first time, Ambassador Haley is with me now to react publicly and to get her response to something that is getting a ton of attention right now. It’s a personal attack on her. Critics are pushing back hard on The View's co-host Sunny Hostin for accusing Ambassador Haley of trying to hide her Indian heritage. It began with the panel talking about a potential 2024 White House race. Let's watch.

FAULKNER: Wow, she really is that racially ignorant. And your response?

NIKKI HALEY: It is not the first time and it won't be the last time that the hosts of The View come after me or that liberals come after me in whatever way. They can't stand the fact that a minority female would be a conservative Republican.

When I ran and won governor a reporter went to a high-ranking African-American Democrat female and said how do you feel that South Carolina now has their first minority governor? And she said Nikki Haley is not a minority. She’s just a conservative with a tan.

FAULKNER: Ooooo

HALEY: So, you look at what Sunny Hostin does and the idea that no, Sunny is not her name. Nikki is my name. It is on my birth certificate. It is an Indian name and I embrace my Indian heritage. I have written two books that described the struggles that my family had, what it was like growing up.

But the idea that they can do this. You’re not going to see her fired from that show. We won't see an apology from that show. Because they let liberals say that about conservative Republican minorities all the time. But yet nothing is done. Had this been said about a Democrat, all hell would have broken loose.

FAULKNER: You know, just in terms of that 2024, and I pointed out the politics of things that are happening on every scale right now whether it's a lawsuit against a former president. We are cooking down 48 days to the midterm elections and then begins the real talk about 2024. And what will you have to say about it?

HALEY: Well, I think we'll have to say what happens in November. We have to win the House, the Senate, and these 36 governors races. And you know, I said before once the elections are out of the way we'll look at the situation. If it looks like there’s a place for me; I've never lost a race. I'll give it 1,000 percent and we'll finish it.

But I think it’s really important we look at November. And what I hope Democrats realize when they look at what happened on The View is it’s Democrats that are racist. These liberal extremists are the ones that are racist. They’re the ones that think minorities are incapable of going to the DMV to get an I.D. to vote. They’re the ones that are racist who say minority parents are incapable of finding the school for their children.

Let's let independents, conservative Democrats realize that no, it is not Republicans that are racist or sexist. It’s liberal Democrats that have done this for a long time and I hope it goes to the heart of what happens in the House, Senate and governors races come November.

FAULKNER: Well, I have always been grateful when people show you who they are. I don't want to think someone is one thing and you find out later no, they really are the enemy. So, there is a favor to be thanked for all of this. It can be harmful to your feelings but at the same time, you know exactly where some of these people stand.

HALEY: No, and look, none of this bothers my feelings. I mean, I brush it off my shoulders.

FAULKNER: You were at the U.N. dealing with everything across the table from you.

HALEY: You know, when they go after something like your name or looks they don't have anything else. That shows you’re winning. And I will take that win all day long.

FAULKNER: Ambassador Nikki Haley you were with me with the president today through the breaking news and I appreciate you being here. Thanks you.

HALEY: Thank you for having me.
