Open Thread: Obama Health Bill Clears Senate

December 24th, 2009 9:37 AM

Moments ago, Senate Democrats on a party-line 60-39 vote passed Harry Reid's version of a health care overhaul. Despite their pretext of "making history," Democrats seem concerned the public is against their proposal.

The public will come around, however, according to New York senator Chuck Schumer who said this yesterday:

"I believe that the negativity that Leader McConnell and others have continually displayed on the floor has peaked, and now, when people learn what's actually in the bill and all the good it does, it will become more and more popular."

Is he right or wrong?
